Title: Best pole hose
Post by: Moderator David@stives on February 20, 2012, 09:49:48 pm
I wont go in too it too deep, but i have to change the hose in about 10 poles, due to it becoming a trip hazard.

The hose is so stiff that even pulled across the ground there are sections that keep raised by up to 6 inches. It just wont lay flat at all, i cant ever remember any hose being any where near as bad.

Any reccommendations anyone ? i need to get this right first time as it is a massive inconveience

on another note do you thing putting it in boiling water will soften my existing hose

IMHO i love aquadaptors orange hose (8mm i think)
its lovely to use on hot water setups ,little firm on cold ,but as i use hot/warm 95% of the time it suits me.

I love aqua adapter hose as well, but if you are looking for hose that lays flat on the ground I don't think that aqua adapter hose is going to do it. A softer hose would be the option, I never had any trouble with gardiners laying flat.

I've got the same problem.

I've got an ionics pole and the orange hose that came with it is a nightmare. It can coil itself in a loop around anything and twice I've fallen over because it had got tied in knots around my feet. I'm quite happy with the pole and brush but I don't think anyone at Ionics gave the slightest thought to the hose. It's useless for the job it's for.

So, any answers would be well appreciated by me also.

I have the same stuff, it's dreadful and not fit for our needs. Sureclean yellow hose does the job, it's cheap and easy to use.

Yes, my thoughts exactly. Don't know what happened but the humble hose went through a load of disastrous changes - too soft, too stiff, too thin, strange diameters not fitting push fit valves properly, hose not laying flat, hose climbing up the outside of the pole handle and strange colours. All the time every one on here would recommend every variation.  ::)

In the quest to fit more gadgets and to go lighter, the build quality is Shocking

I have to get all me vans together and get one of my lads to change the hose on at least 10 poles

I am not happy about it at all.

All we want to do is clean windows

Has anyone tried silicone hose? When I've used it on cars it is always supple and doesn't have a memory?
