On Tuesday 20th December in the early hours of the morning, I had a heart attack, although at the time I thought it was indigestion, as I had been out quite late the night before.
Needless to say I had work on the books up until Thursday, I was first taken to our local hospital which is approximately 12 miles away, when they confirmed that it differently was a heart attack then transferred me at great speed to London, where I underwent two operations two days apart.
And was back home lunchtime Christmas Eve, my main worry other than dying, was the fact I had not laid up the machine property for the ten-day break, this morning I have mustered the strength to open up the van and start the machine to the annoyance of my neighbours, I had to churn it over for some time before it would start, and then left it running for half an hour to charge the battery.
I have been told by the hospital that because of the type of work I do it would be unwise to return to work in under eight weeks, as luck would have it when I remortgage two years ago I was sold a critical illness policy as part of the deal.
Still waiting for the claim form possibly will have gone bankrupt by the time they pay up if at all, sorry I just have no faith in insurance companies.
Anyway hence the title hope2, like James Brother with his problems, he can look at mine and be glad he isn't me, and maybe it might make him feel a little better, because there is always someone worse off than you.
A happy and prosperous new year to you all, Ted

Ted,
Thats really bad news and you have my very best wishes for a full recovery.
You really do need to have at least the 8 weeks rest and some thinking time , hopefully your policy will pay off your mortgage and make it easier for you to work less.
Cheers

My heart goes out to both you and Barry, I was bankrupt in 1995 and since then have suffered from depression.

Sorry to hear about your scare and hope you listen to advice. Maybe re evaluate what you're doing and consider what you can safely do.
There are ways of working with much less physical effort and I'm currently experimenting with one, as I simply cannot cope with the weight, due a wrecked back.
Best wishes and stay positive, if you think you can..............you can !

Ted sorry to hear of ill health its easy to say sit back and get well but the truth is its not as easy as some like to think.
May be its time to take stock and plan the future by taking out the stress in your method of working.
I had a scare a while back now I work less and have learnt to deligate.
Regards
