Title: Pure water used Without poles?
Post by: jim bean on February 20, 2012, 04:54:34 pm
Hi, I have been pondering the idea of using pure water on a few of my jobs that consist of little squares (4"'x 3" approx). I plan on using a small square kinda tool with a bit of microfibre on it and then applying the water to that.
While thinking of that I thought could you use pure water with a applicator!? I was thinking maybe a bucket full, use applicator on window and then a spray bottle to rinse? I am not fully committing to Wfp and would just like to try different things out atm.

Only real problem is would a spray bottle hold enough water for it to be a plausible idea? I don't know how much water is used to rinse off the glass but I'm guessing more than a 500ml bottle lols  ::)

I only use pure water on my applicator - no soap. Find it makes life more visible.

I'm guessing you still squegee off though? I was gonna harvest some rainwater and try using that instead of tapwater as mines about 350, does it make much of a difference? I'm guessing it don't glide as good but no soapy lines eh!?

I have seen guys doing the little windows on doors with pure in a spray bottle and a microfibre so would work on little awkward windows too I suppose...

Yes, still squeegee. I harvest rainwater then di - 28ppm in the tank & 0ppm thereafter. Cuts through dried on dirt really well. Doesn't glide well but easy to detail and you don't worry about marks left if it's hot  plus you can see what you're doing.
