hi ya'll can anyone advise me who is supposed to move the furniture out of room when you are quoting for the job, ie you may do a special price for a small room, but if you have to spend an hour moving then you have to charge for that dont you?? or does the customer move it??

Sean its simple logistics as moving furniture takes time(buy some sliders then place furniture on silver tabs or other similiar options from all suppliers) so charge for it as it will take more time and qualify with the customer what is to be moved(dont let them think you are moving a huge wardrobe when you aint).I always say for them to remove as much from the room as possible especially personal items and all their MING vases(they werent MING until you broke it mate).Regards Alan(swindon)

I ask them to remove all small objects and that I will move anything that will not break or give me a hernia....
And I will not move electrical items eg tv. (have you seen the size and set up of some of the tv's these days?)
If there is a lot to be moved add to your price accordingly, but 3pc suite and dining table etc is all part of the job IMO.....

Totally agree with Hector... anything that can be moved get the custy to do it before you arrive, or larger items like sofas can be slid from one side of the room to the other (usually)
My cousin is a carpet fitter and he insists on the rooms being cleared before he arrives...
