Title: dripping wand!
Post by: dave archer on February 19, 2012, 09:04:12 pm
Hi does anyone else have a problem with dripping from the jet when trigger is released? I wondered should there be a one way valve fitted just before the jet to stop the slug of water left in the nylon line dripptng from the jet?  I have checked the trigger valve with pipe disconnected and no leakage was found just appears to be what is left  in the nylon line.
thoughts appreciated   thanks Dave

I get a little drip at the jets when resting or even on a dry pass.

Only a little one so not a major problem

Been too shy to ask on here ;D ;D

What kind of wand? Most do have shutoff valves/filters behind the jets. These can clog and need steeping in acid rinse occasionally.

If there is a filter in there it is actually a non return valve. There is a ballbearing and conical spring inside. Give it a good clean and soak it over night in some acid rinse or vinegar.

Does the wand have a male connector on it? That might be knackard.

Most likely needs a new o-ring on the valve stem.  Or the spring might be broken.  Valve or seat could be cracked from the frost - brass doesn't like frozen water inside it!

You can buy check valves that sit inside your wand jets, they work well as long as the springs last.

I get this all the time, save money on a repair kit because it could still leak from a worn / damaged seat, just get a new valve, its a bit like a tap pressure gets past the seat.

I do, but I'd just put it down to the onset of middle age  ;)
