Title: little giant ladder
Post by: steven ainger on February 18, 2012, 09:44:30 am
ive finally got rid of my ladders off the van by buying a little giant ladder,
because i only use ladders now for access ( flat roofs etc ) thought this ladder would be ideal.
first impressions are a handy tool to have, came in handy yesterday

cool to see pix. are they sturdy, I got one from 100 quid to 60, similar to yours but I'm sure not as sturdy. use daily here and there, 2 years and still going "strong!"

They look the dogs, I've got a small set of triples which just fit in the van, been looking at a set of small compact ladders but they may struggle to reach some flat roofs,

They extend to about 15ft, and tbh i wouldnt want to go any higher,
But they are pretty stable at that height

Looks good, my telesteps are ok, but very heavy, and feet wear out quick, and when dirt gets in sides, it becomes a pain to extend en, they get gritty.
My telesteps were also a lot more money!

Thanks for the pics and info.

that's cool, nice one steve. my telescopic work on different principle to these, each rung expands, these kind of slide into each other, as in the top half slides out of the inside of the bottom (not explaining very well, I think I know what I think they do!)

my ladder never felt sturdy, swore to my wife there was more chance of falling off these in the 2 mins a day I use them than spending all day on proper ladders!

was thinking of getting a 6 foot triple to fit inside van, but not so easy if got to lift ladder over garages, etc.

this def looks the job, cheers mate

Havnt tried lifting it over a garage yet,
Theres only 2 houses on my round that i have to do that, and thats only if the owners are out or forgot to leave the gate open.
So if its too heavy/awkward its fronts only, no great loss

I know the Little Giant Ladder ones in the pics are the pro version, but the basic version on Screwfix is £219, there is another one they do  that's almost identical for £99 and I bought it a few weeks ago, it's a great ladder but still quite heavy.

from what i can gather these extend higher than the ones steve bought,4.16m as against 4.43m,is it worth the extra £100

I use these, same thing, just better imo...

 http://www.titanladders.co.uk/PAGES/tiger.html

Lighter than the little giant, have much better feet, safer clamps, en131 trade rated, titanium inners really work, very fast in use, made by a real ladder manufacturer, not a USA shopping channel!

I recommend them, they just don't have the cool paint work
