same poo every year fear the winter because there cometh an ice age of epic preportions.
Then come summer it's going to be a drought as it hasn't rained enough.
I thought it rained a fair bit this winter, i'm in essex.
Just got rid of 5 inches of snow, it melts and turns to water ???

2 weeks ago they dropped the water level in the river here by about 3ft so they could paint some of the steel raised banking.
We are in an area that is lock gate controlled and is drained into tidal rivers, if the water was so short they could have kept it in to help keep up the water table.

I'll start worrying if we have a dry (by compariosn) 2011-12 winter.
There is definately some credibility in the concern we need to show re: water availability this year. We normally get a prolonged and fairly continual period throughout the winter of low pressure systems coming in off the Atlantic (for about 2 months or so) we've had none of that this winter. Nought.

This reservoir is 40% full when it should be 100% this time of year.

Were quite lucky here on the welsh water side of things, seem to get a lot more rain than even the midlands.
However, i would worry about customers opinion of us splashing water around if theres a shortage......
