hi all
about due a new reel as the old one is battered and the handle is so bent it almost touches the floor so you can bang your nuckles on the ground if not carefull.
fed up with the usual bag of nuts and bolts you get sent want one of these newer solid metal jobs.
notice pure freedom do one for 139 with 100 meter 8mm mb.
the other question i have is connection to the van. i hate having hozelock anyhwere in the run it always leaks.
i currently have 2 pro 26 half inch females of each pump. however no one seems to do a male for these with a female half inch on the back to go onto the reel.
what reels are we using and how are you connecting to the van.
cheers

I am using the Pure Freedom one with a brass male swivel elbow to the pump. Makes a huge difference in leaks. ThePF one is heavy though because of the hose, but no kinks and robust.

i also use the brass swivel and no leaks my reels are the standard metal ones and fixed in van but if i was ever to buy a new reel i'd have the p/f ones - very well made

I use a k-systems reel - think he makes them himself?
It's mounted on my tank tho coz it's v.heavy
It uses pcl connectors which I've replaced once in a year because of leaks

for hozelok fittings change the o ring - you can buy a bag of 100 for a couple of quid on ebay and when you connect smear a little silicone grease on the o ring - it protects the rubber from the pure water and then they dont leak
