Title: Old customer asking me back, what would you have done?
Post by: Jackal on February 14, 2012, 08:27:41 pm
was cleaning today on some of my compact work when an old custy saw me and asked can i add him to my round,i instantly responded sorry iv got to many houses now,he just said ok no probs,

the reason is when i brought this round 2 years ago he cancelled after about 6 months saying he was having some work done in the back garden and would ask me back in a couple of months, now a year and half later he's asked me to clean again,a neighbour said he has had work done last summer but not like a big refurb still looks same to me really,

i just think he didnt want keep paying so thought once a messer always a messer,

what would you have done????????

I'd have him back. Just tell him it's gone up in price and you now like to be paid there and then and can you leave it out. If you go there and he ain't left it out forget him. Simple.

Ditto.  He hasn't messed you around really, i would take him back, but charge extra for first clean, and increase price for regular too.  However, if he cancelled you again for some reason, then id dump....and, of course, replace with 2  ;D

i think i was a little bitter over the fact that he said il ask you again in couple months then its been 18 months and obviously wants them doing cuz they filthy it was a £6.50 job and would of wanted £8 now but still think after few months he would be-grudge paying me the £8,

just thought id get some input on this, cheers

Thanks mate :-)

I can understand why you jacked, out of the few places that we went I think the average was about 3.40 a pint.

Wetherspoons did have guinness at 1.99 a pint which is cheap as chips.

Gav. John has jacked the booze like myself and Frank.

I was considering a glass of vino tonight but frank inspired me and I've had a night on the tesco mountain spring water. To be honest I feel better for it too.

sounds like you might be taking it all very personally

i always take it as a compliment when an old customer comes back to us!  it says they obviously liked the service.

we'd insist they paid double for 1st clean and went straight onto standing order payments (which cuts out plenty of time wasters).

obviously if they messed us around last time then i;d explain the service to them again also.

yeh think i did take it personally tbh,i always said to myself that id up the price if he left it more than 3 months, but as he took so long to ask me start cleaning again when there really was no need to cancel for a bit of garden work,if he had said bit skint at moment that would of been sound with me,

i dont have a 3 strike rule more like 1 strike these days as got plenty of work and theres plenty out there if i want to chase it
