Have got a real awkward and large glass canopy to clean. An idea i have is to use an extra pole section to screw onto standard thread at top of my angle adapter, giving a large angle and depth. Any idea what extention would be best? 1st section of slx or clx? How would I put a female thread inside it? Hope that makes sense!

plastic versions also available - i have done what you want to do - it makes the whole set-up unstable

thanks i have one of these but its not long enough. the angle and depth i need is silly.stability is not really going to b an issue as it will be on a flat roof sloping down. All i need is it to be able to touch the glass.gravity will do the rest

Hi Rhine
The problem would be connection strength due to leverage over the length of an extra 5/6ft section on the joint. If it was attached with just a screw then this would probably break the thread at some point. It could be done with the quick release top sections using a smaller section to slide inside onto both top sections. However the solution below would still be better and would be no more expensive.
I would recommend adding a section from the bottom - this would only be slightly more expensive and would give full strength and adjustability in use. If you would like any more details about this option then please drop me an email on alex@agardiner.co.uk
