After 5 years of use I imagine that it does not really owe you anything so perhaps treating yourself to a new pole would be a good idea. However there are some things that you can do to prolong the life of any older pole.
First of all if the wear on the sections is fairly uniform you can consider buying a complete set of new clamp bodies and removing the old ones and gluing on the new ones. These can be bought from - WCW - http://www.windowcleaningwarehouse.co.uk/shop/facelift/view-all-products.html (http://www.windowcleaningwarehouse.co.uk/shop/facelift/view-all-products.html) these are £9.95 per clamp body so would cost you £39.80.
If the wear is mainly at the very bottom or the very top of each section then you can simply coat these worn areas with a little two-pack epoxy resin. Applied very thinly, allowed to dry and sanded smooth will build up the targeted areas of wear and should get you a few more months from the pole.

Think I will go for a new one ,how does the clx compare with the facelift cheers dale

Someone on eBay selling a 4 part clx 1 part slx wants £80 what do you think, there's no brush on it .

The CLX pole is a hybrid material pole so would only fare well in comparison on price. For a performance comparison you would need to look at the SLX which is more expensive than the CLX.
The CLX on eBay looks OK. As long as it has not had too much wear on the No.1 and No.2 sections.

I have had the 45 facelift for over 6 years , its still pretty much as new , but then it only comes out to play 50 times a year !
Fair pole , but i do need an upgrade , did this with it today and lets just say my top half is aware of the fact !

Based on five days A week at today's price , a good old 0.28p a day, so what's wrong with facelift?
I'm finding that people are loving the facelift, fortunately there are only about 5% of window cleaners using ciu.
So that means there's enough glue left in the world for airfix toys etc.

i used (i think it was) a 38ft carbon facelift a couple of times last year while waiting for a replacement sl2 section. It was the incredibly bendy and pretty heavy as well.
It was like going back in time.
