I havent tried the following ( and it may have been suggested before ) myself but know someone who uses it to good effect. Ill be using/trying it when my van is ready for use.
If you have the pump board etc on or close to the tank a good tip for keeping frost free and that is also very economical (pennies per night) is to get a king size (or bigger if you can) electric blanket. Move your reel etc close to the tank and throw the electric blanket over and a duvet too to help keep the heat in. Needs to be well wrapped up to keep heat in and cold out but I am told it works very well. Electric blankets/ heated under blankets use anything between 60w and 200w an hour depending on setting and some come with timers etc and are suitable for all night use.

Water and electric don't need to mix, you are covering your tank etc not putting it in it! A lot of the modern electric blankets are now washable in the washing machine anyway. In the the extremely unlikely 100 million to 1 chance there was a fault then it would cut out or just plug in to a safety cutout socket or whatever they are called, the same people will do with their electric fan heaters etc. Just a tip I thought I'd pass on but if anyone feels its unsafe then please ignore it.

My missus wouldnt be happy going up to bed to discover no duvet or electric blanker on the bed.....

I bought a small cheap 1 ceramic bar gas fire out of camping shop last year usees the small gas aerosloe gas bottles seems to do job ok !!!!!!!!!!!!!
