When canvassing and a customer says they will think or speak to there other half,do you leave a leaflet and forget about them or do you give a few days and follow up
-
just leave a leaflet or business card i wouldnt follow it up if they want you they will ring you
-
get there name and number if you can and follow it up, a reason some people don't have a window cleaner and keep meaning too is they forget.
Follow up with a knock should you not have the number because if you don't you will never know the answer

imo these arnt the custys you want,if they cant remember to call you to have there first clean and arrange there frequency what are they going be like in a few months when payment is due,i use my sixth sense on this and stay clear
-
maybe i have a simple view in life but to my way of thinking you either want to have your windows cleaned or you don't
if you give them a price and they want to think about it then in the vast majority of cases it means no.
I wouldn't call back i would invest my time in a new potential customer,ie someone who says yes
Picked up[ a custy thru yell.com gave him a price a week ago(admittedly over the phone)we have had a few text between us,reckons his neighbour is interested,so went round to make sure of the size of house etc and its one of the "linked-detached" houses were the garage of both houses take up the space between the two houses so that means i would need access for both to get thru the garages or climb the garages?...so that's the end of that enquiry,i can just see the problems every time i need to clean
But that's just me
-
Thing is I'm new I have 6 customers only got a wage coming at the end of the month then on my own so I literally think I need to feed off the scraps to survive ..........nothing like pressure but one day I will be able to get up and enjoy not working for someone else.
-
Be careful not to make mistakes due to worrying about the finances, ie underpricing -can u not pull a part time job while you build your round...?
-
need be out canvassing then big time mate, personally i doubt shes interested proberly would of rung you by now or taken you on if you charged at lot less so just aint worth it mate, part time job mite help you even delivering pizza at nite just untill you build enough to pay the bills
-
I'm going to look for some part time, but one thing I have not done is undercut or price low,I want this to be my future so I won't cut any corners etc.
-
yeh underpricing is the worst thing you can do i admit iv done it in the past and u will only have to drop them or bump them up but easily done when you want extra work,my prices arnt the best but when im wfp i should up my hourly rate by £6-7 i reckon so mite be ok then,i find it hard as iv got alot of compact estate stuff and if a neighbour asks me do theres i cant really charge a great deal more for same house

i am may speak to him tomorrow and make a final decision as i too am moving to a fixed date system :P
-
if they come on for cleaning make sure you offer them a one off to find out what's on there mind then price accordingly chasers, ring ins people who need to think are normally one offs but not always ,so just have a chat with them before you offer a reg price.
-
fixed date system bob?i think youll regret that decision mate!!!!roughly on time monthly/2 monthly is best in my limited experience(18 years!!) ;) ;D ;D

hey bob, speak to me before you move to giving fixed dates. it definitely has its advantages, but also some big draw backs. i think for most WCs flexable dates is probably in their favour.
