Not sure how many folks do big commercial jobs like school halls, applying sealer...
But just wondered what tools folks use on bigger areas? My trusty workhorse is a lambswool applicator but when faced with a few hundred square metres at a time it is a bit of a long job!
I quite fancy the idea of the 3M applicator (http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Commercial/Care/Whats-New/New-Products/3M-Easy-Clean-System/3M-Easy-Shine-Applicator-System/) but wonder if it really is as good as it appears?!
Anyone use one of these?
Or any other method of large-scale finish application?

ive got something in the garage that resembles a wide mop with tassly thing with a dish style inside thing that you put the application in, ahhhh sod it, back in a min with a photo if the uploader is working.

Hi Jim
if you can try a rayon mop sometimes works very well
some times it can leave lines on the floor
but if you give it a couple of washes through the washing machine it dose get better

Derek thanks. What do you do with that then? Just pour the floor finish onto the top part of the mop and it seeps through?
David thanks, I had thought of something similar but microfibre flat mop... I'm trying to avoid the process of dunking something into a tray every 30 seconds because it really takes ages on a big job. I suppose it could be sprayed down but you'd have to keep stopping and switching between mop and sprayer.

yeah exactly that, if your anywhere near alltec on the 21st or 22nd i can drop it off for ya.

Hi Jim
I should of said we use a big mop bucket on wheels in which i place a
black plastic bin bag and then sealer in that.
we use this simple system for sealing super market floors.

Hi Jim. I strip and seal and maintain large area vinyl floors in heavy industrial areas as well as maintain apoxy flooring I use The BETCO hard as nails sealer you can drive fork lift trucks over it. To put the sealer down after stripping and rinsing I use the BETCO back pack applicator and pad About £120.00, the chemical sealer comes in a plastic container 5lt which fits into the back pack holder and feeds the chem down through the handle and into the applicator, in most cases only one coat is required it's fast non messy dries in 30 minutes and totall resists all scuffs, skid marks, mettal filings (swarf) oils and careless cleaning staff utilising harsh chemicals to maintain. It comes fro the states but is available through their UK distributer.
If you would like their contact rep email address and tel: send me your email
Have fun
