Title: DRIP DRIP DRIP
Post by: wayne zabel on February 07, 2012, 03:25:23 pm
Due to my solution hose splitting I had to buy a new set of hoses for my Prochem Powermax a couple of weeks ago.

Ever since using the new hoses i get a constant small drip from both connections ie the brass connector at the wand and the same at the extractor. This never happened on my original hoses.

Are the new hoses no good or can an adjustment be made on the 2 female brass connectors on the wand and extractor.

I thought maybe this was a "bedding in" problem but its not getting better. The original hoses were bought with the machine from Prochem, the new hoses were bought from an independant supplier.

Any ideas or would you send them back?

I would dismantle them, put some fresh PTFE tape on the threads then tighten them back up... See if that works... :)

I don't think that's the bit that's the problem Col

Wayne have you still got the old hoses/connectors?  If so just swap the connectors off them.

Some brands of QD do not fit so well with others, believe it or not!

Where did you get them from? There is a ebay seller selling dodgy solutions lines.

I had the same issue with a QC on a 50 ft length that was split into two lengths.  In the end it was just a matter of tightening the joint up.  It took a fair bit of tightening too.  Not had an issue since.  Try it, it won't cost you anything but a bit of effort.

I agree with Jim, think it's mis-matched QCs.
