You've got your keywords and description bang on so that's fine. Use Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn etc to boost your ranking. It does work.
-
Also the more links you have to other sites and them to you will help - having a Gmail and google + will also help as the more google links you have the better.
The more places your web site appears the better the ranking,

I wouldn't worry about Google mate, I honestly don't think it's that important. I would have thought you'd get more work off the side of the van and those 10,000 leaflets ;)
Have you setup any adds via facebook yet?

you are joking arnt you VSP ? ???

Nope, I just don't think that many people use Google to find a window cleaner. We should pole it, I'm sure most people here ask new customers where they saw their advert etc. It would be interesting to find out the figures.
I see you've done an FB page :)
I guess it depends on many factors, age of client base etc. Most OAP's won't be googling for a window cleaner.

VSP has got a point. i had a website for a year ,top of 1st page in my town, mainly as no other round here has a site! and i think i got about 2 or 3 jobs max off it that year. second year i added my website onto my leaflets and yahey BINGO im there ,that then gives folk the idea to look me up .

top for what you was searching on google use google webmaster tools and see how many other people are searching the same keywords. you might find no-one is searching them
-
what words do you think people tap in ?
i usually tap in "window cleaner mytown " or mytown window cleaning"
every now and then i check using a different computer at a different town .
i got a high ladder job last year purely as somebody searching for a commercial trad cleaner ,i now have the word ladder and commercial mentioned in my site blurb to try and get more of it

it could do no harm, as people will know you can serve them
-
it would help also have them, in your keywords

ok i think i need to shout this THE EASIEST WAY TO GET TO THE TOP OF GOOGLE FOR YOUR SURROUNDING AREA IS THE GOOGLE LOCAL BUSINESS CENTER. ok sore throat now but it will take you 10 mins to set up , put as much info as you can in cos google likes content on this and give it a bit of time and do NOTHING ELSE and pay NOTHING TO NOONE and hey presto you will find yourself top half of first page of google ;). If this confuses you then just google "google local business center" and follow onscreen instructions ;)

Have a look at www.nationwidewindowcleaners.co.uk we have managed to get people to the top of google in the area they cover in 3 days
some guys on here have had great results early on...

or do what i said as it will cost you nothing

Once you registered with google local you can use Webmaster tools to see what keywords are used and links to get to your webpage. Re keywords dont stuff too many in head, tags etc as it may have negative effect. Have a look at basic seo info on web.

Pretty impressive when you're above Google Business links.
