Title: just fitted a split

charge relay thingy me jig so hopefully Thats one less problem to worry about.
got it from a company called brocott,less than £20.00.
The hardest part was getting the cable from the van battery to inside the area were the auxiliary battery is located

hello i have a transit so from main battery should be easy do you just wire from main battery to your leisure battery and do yoy need a inline fuse cheers

i tried to find a wiring diagram for these before i bought one.
do they need a switched/ignition line.

You go from main battery to in line fuse then to split relay then to leisure battery but before you go to leisure put another in line fuse (positive) then you just earth your leisure battery to body of van where possible

have used for the first time today no problems battery all nicely charged

the relay has 3 wires from it
 red to van main battery
 red to leisure battery
 black to main van battery

then a black from leisure battery to any earth thats it no perm lives no messing about

Ideal replacement for a standard split charge relay but with an added bonus. When either battery bank reaches 13.3v it will join to the other bank allowing charge to be passed from engine battery to leisure battery or vice versa.


When wild camping the relay will allow both battery banks to stay joined allowing a larger battery capacity to be used. Once the battery voltage drops to 12.8v the relay will the separate both banks of batteries and allow them to react independently of each other. Stopping the possibility of flattening both banks of batteries.


These relays are fully automatic, fit them and forget them. No more switching your charger from one battery to another or a solar panel that only charges the leisure batteries.

do you know how many miles a day you would have to do to keep a leisure battery charged thanks

a new battery will not go flat on a split charge relay ive used my battery for 6 hours solid and just charges straight back up when driving again
