Title: Im sorry for my rantings so frustrated
Post by: Catherine10 on February 04, 2012, 05:34:37 pm
Look guys and gals, I am so frustrated about the I want the round on my iphone, so you must understand my predicament.  You guys keep asking for something that already exists.  Can you see how frustrating it is?  It reflects in how I react to something........ the same questions keep arising when there is something already out there.... If anybody wants to talk to us thats fine - but it just seems that we are going round in loops about something on your Iphone, that already exists

tbh Catherine if people are asking for things that have been about for years, then the people doing this stuff really need to have a look at the way they advertise what they do as it is clearly failing in a very big way, and allows other to step in and exploit this failing, do you not think ?

WW As a company that have provided cloud solutions for a long time its very trying.

I can give anyone on here passwords into the system to see on the Iphone or any phone with a screen quite a sensitive subject with a company that has been running in the cloud for a long time.  You know, window cleaners talk about "messers" weve had our fair few

Frustrated housewife ???
What she is babbling on about is that her other half invented a system (like George) that doesn't sell for some reason and she needs someone to talk about it and post links all over this forum because she's not allowed. Apparently it runs on an iphone etc. Been about for a while but nobody seems to buy it. Don't know why.

I would advise you to put some false records on there so we can actually see how it works, and sort the design.

For someone in sales you have a very strange way of promoting your product.

Ok its clear now, you've started early.

ww is spot on perhaps there are better software solutions for our business. The last time I looked at your site and it was a long time ago, it did not seem relevant to this industry. I don't know whether any specific research was done for your product and our industry, but to say its cloud based and can be run on smart phones is not be everything we need

Finally its how its sold to me, hissy fits, deleted accounts and name changes does not make me warm to you or the product, this may be my loss but there are other alternatives

Gd select round 1 week 1 and monday its only test data it will come up on your phone,

You will then have four sections on the phone at the top left. Which will be schedule, accounts, collections they will be in blue on the top left  You can then select house number and how much they owe you, this is test data GD

How much a month?
Isit easy to add new custys?
Ca you print schedule out aswell incase phone battery goes dead?
Can you tick work off when done?
Can you add if you have been paid or not?
If you miss any from the day before are they then scheduled for the next day?

Instead of getting emotional Kate why don't you invite everyone who is interested to demo it? Or set up a video on YouTube so people can see easily how it functions.

Then maybe people would get the product :)

Catherine I think people seriously prefer the thought of an app rather than cloud based record keeping. Maybe there's not a great deal of difference in the practicalities but there certainly is regarding the security. I for one wouldn't want all of my database details stored where someone else could access them and that certainly looks the case here.

Catherine please look at how you are coming across, do you not think alex gardiner gets asked the same questions time after time? I know I do. You just deal with it in a professional manner and you might just gain a few customers.

What people want is an app that works on their phone with cloud back up, if you ever want to talk about another approach to this product email me...

Right, sorry about that, i'm up to speed now, seen the other threads. You don't make it easy to follow though....'this industry' actually equates to a few individuals asking?
Google docs still does spreadsheets and other docs all for free. All in the Cloud as you say, accesible from anywhere, real time editing and collaboration too.

Not that I'm looking for a cloud based app to manage my round anyway, but out of interest I logged in to the view this anyway.

Some honest views are:-

Firstly how are we supposed to get a feel for this if there is no data entered?  Atleast spend an hour adding som false data to give possible customers a general idea of how the software navigates / shows data etc.

Secondly, I can tell the software is ~6 years old. Has it been redesigned / brought upto date at all since it was created. Looking at it honestly makes my eyes bleed and needs some serious design attention.

Please take this as constructive criticism as it is intended btw.

How frustrating is it when over and over and over and over again "is there something on the mobile" Ive tried hammering it home for four years that there is and it still carries on

Anybody would be frustrated.

It seems a no win situation.  Until the next question pops up " is there a programme on my mobile" four years later lol

Matt log in and have a look first, Have a look on the mobile and then on the desktop play around with the system.  It will come in around 30 a month with three users, backup and support 24/7 - problems sorted directly, down days are rare, dont think there has been one in 6 years.  Have a little look, add a customer, do a search open in firefox - the same will appear on your mobile, drop down menu.  Did you get the log in codes that I posted on the mobile side?

C 10 -  sorry i don't usually get involved with this sort of thread, however looking at your posts on the
other thread you are totally out of order and my guess would be it's your attitude that has held back the
software just as much as how poor the 'demo' works

i know you have managed to get into deep issues previously but your coming across just like ALEX ( Tecbuk )
if you've been in sales as long as you say then your posts and reply's should be far slicker than they are.

do you not think we all get the same questions asked ? - 'my windows are wet, will they dry ok' - cleaned WFP - perhaps next time a customer asks this i should tell them where i may now insert my pole and brush ! - great for customer relations but no i smile and patiently (again) explain how it works...

get my drift ??

you have got to a stage where you cant see the wood from the trees - take some time out reflect on how your coming across and start again

Very nice try Catherine10 at shock marketing....another pooe american marketing technique.
Still i suppose it worked to a degree getting everyone talking and looking....well more so than if you hadn't started the thread in the first place...

I tried this style a few years ago with some leaflets....
YOUR WINDOWS ARE DIRTY...
IF THAT'S HOW YOU WANT TO LIVE...FINE

IF NOT GIVE ME A CALL.....

it worked to a degree as well.... ;D ;D

WOW! I just read this tread with my gob wide open  ;D

Catherine10 the way I see it you need to think hard about how you promote your product.
instead of getting your knickers in a twist when people say "is there anything for the Iphone" you should see it as a serious failing in your advertising department and deal with it. Perhaps you need to employ someone to deal with promotion?

I have been using this forum since 2003 and have read the same questions a thousand times. That's what newbies do. If they cant see what they are looking for THEY ASK!

I was about to look at your product until someone said its £30 a month. I dont see why I should pay that much for something when there is a fantastic alternative for a fraction of the price. I bet most guys feel the same way.

George has been a runaway success for one reason. PRICE! George did not need to advertise, as it was so cheap and did a great job it built its reputation on referrals.

If you are not getting referrals or new enquiries and get frustrated when people ask for a product you provide you are doing something wrong.
IMO  :)

With a straight forwards answer like that, you should be a salesman. Have you ever thought about taking up being window cleaner? You might do ok.

On a serious note, please go easy on Catherine, she's not a bad person, just gets drunk occassionally, as we all know, Cleanitup and alchohol do not mix.

Please try to give her a bit of slack when she arrives back today.

Now in the light of day, can I explain what I mean.  I feel mortified about what I said.  But like yourselves there are many complaints about being messed around, whether its money, customers.... we also get messed around.  Set up appointments at a particular time, arrange demonstrations and nobody picks the phone up.  Issue log in codes - then people dont go on the system,  So its equally as frustrating for our business.  I have no problem whatsoever people saying im going to write something for the iphone, but when we give details out to people and they dont look, dont answer the phone etc  can you see how that makes us feel, we do try and help and will bend over backwards for anybody who needs it, but it is a two way street.  Also some of you will know that I have my own business telesales within this inudstry - so I will always have your best interests at heart.

I hope that explains it better

i cant see what the problem is. what you describe are normal service industry situations. if you have communication problems and it starts to make you aggressive then you may want to get some advice from someone in a similar industry to help you cope with every day business of dealing with human beings.

Kate

Have a look at this forum and others, on all of them you will find a feature to search back posts to find a answer to their questions.

In the majority of cases they don't use it, instead they post topics, so we end up with mulitiple topics about the same question all the time.

So when someone asks your question, then all you have to do is post a link back to the original question with offers to help if they have further questions, job done.

On your test site, why not make it open for everyone to access and play with, without the need to register or input pass codes.

You will be surprised how many people do not want to give out their details when they are just "window shopping
" if they want more information they will ask.

Both the George and Aworka programme are simple to use, we are window cleaners and we don't want over complicated.

Both programmes also have a free trial periods, we can then play with them on a daily basis, normally for a month to see if its what we want.

Hi Hydro,

Thank you for that.

We don't ask for details, we just issue passwords, guys can then look round etc.  But if there is something thats not understood, it would be appreciated if somebody would just say I dont understand X can you explain, thats all really.  Plus because there is a live side on the desktop, it sort of needs to be shown - and we can only really do that on the phone.

Thanks good post Hydro.

What happens when you pull your phone or tablet out to discover that you have either no data connection or only a 2g data connection. You would then be spending 5 minutes trying to accept a payment from a customer because the cloud based system wouldn't work properly. Anything that is cloud based through a web browser isnt going to work 100% of the time out on the road. You might think that this isn't a big deal but if someone is dealing with 50 customers a day then they want something more reliable.

Instead of using browsers like safari or chrome write apps that can back the data up to the handset and then people won't be affected by data connection issues. I'm personnally waiting to see what the next version of FileMaker has to offer. At the moment there are no cloud based apps that would work well with window cleaning unless you can absolutely guarantee your data connection.

Simon.

thats a little insulting to the makers of George, they fit a niche at the cheaper end thats for sure, some people don't But nobody would just buy george on price because if it was rubbish it would not sell, they have a good program thats why it sells the price helps to sell to their market or for people to test it's only about 50 quid, I think it is too cheap tbh for what it does.
it is like windwocleaner pro 3 x the price other use this and swear buy it, that because wcp targeted higher end customers. Price can determin the market your in, the cheaper it is the more problems it brings I find.

there will always be cheap and more expensive cheap products can work out expensive long term.

Lets say george was £50 and you spent 5 hours learning it and putting things on it how much has george now cost you because its not £50 people forget this part.
it's like spending hours online to get £5 of an order does this really save money.

I`m really pleased to have read this thread as i can self congratulate myself on buying not 1 but 2 page a day diaries from the pound shop.and discovering that pens from Barclays bank will still write in the cold.

The latter information was given to me by a cheque writing customer who then lent me said pen to write out his receipt(£160.00) and it now resides in my van.

I hear you on that one, thats the only problem about cloud computing if you could not access it, I have this very same problem.
I think the concept is great and I am sure it auto backs up as soon as available, I can see some problems straight away but no more than when taking a hard copy.

I would love to turn everything digital and get rid of paper work as it drives me nuts

Having bought George some 8 or 9 years ago, it is in effect a free program at £7.50 a year. It does everything I want and while out and about I use a £10 pda, bought 5 years ago, and it all works fine. No internet connection needed and no expensive mobile although I have one anyway.

Kates program over the same time period would cost £3 000 plus.

For 60 times the price would I use Kate's?

Sorry Kate, I'm not having a go at you and I intend no insult but I think the price is way too expensive.

No, none taken whatsoever Ross

I think George is brilliant, and I am sure Aworka will be great too.

Think maybe we are more for multiple users - getting the pricing structure right has always been difficult. We have gone over this quite a bit, could we offer for single users?  We would have to have a lot of single users......

I think part of the problem is not just about you but about previous let downs on here by others.  If someone ends up with too much control (e.g. by renting software out on a per month basis) that gives that person too much say in my business expenditure and software updates IMO - this being especially so if there isn't a viable data export mechanism which would allow an easier transfer to other software.
Another issue I have (not with you particularly but with the more marketing minded people) is that I feel that the window cleaning business can be made unnecessarily complicated.
Personally I prefer to update my records daily when I get home.  Much easier using a big screen and a keyboard that actually fits my little fat fingers  :)
I imagine your target is people who have or wish to build a larger company than I.  As a sole trader I manage OK with MS Works - and version 6 at that which was written some years ago.
I can't help feeling that this thread is about you trying to sell software which is masquerading as an apology.  If you want to apologise for something maybe just do it?  Not this "I'm sorry and will you buy my software."  It can come across as a bit shallow.

ive quoted you this time because you seem to add more onto each post after a few minutes. members can click on any profile and read back posts from you and anyone else. dont know anything about your product and i have no interest. nothing personal, thats just the way it is. some people ask to look at your system and dont get back to you. so what? i knock doors and they say they will think about it. so what?

what you need is more advertising and enough customers to stop you getting frustrated and being aggressive to your potential customers. the reason you get like that is because every customer seems to be a life and death issue. thats because if you had enough customers you wouldnt have time to moan about people not getting back to you to ask questions.

you would be better spreading the word about your product and service and getting too busy to spend all this time saying how sorry you are for being bitchy on a cleaners forum. all the time you spend on here is wasted time that you could put into spreading the word.

they all know you on here now!!! why not go and spread the word on some other medium. as you said, ebay. come back in a few months and let us know how you got on.
