Title: Gumtree anyone?
Post by: MAX Carpets on February 04, 2012, 07:11:45 am
Morning all

Does anyone use Gumtree to advertise? I dont, but I have noticed a few of the mobile phone number crew have been using it.

Cheers

Not for this business, but had nothing from it for other adverts we have placed :)

Same here, had 20 ads running at one point, few page views but never one enquiry.
I think a lot of canvassers use it too, get lots of companies with the "we can get you on top of google" line contact me through Gumtree.
On the plus side the gumtree ads get quite high google rankings, for example if someone searches 'tenancy cleaning anytown', I may not be the highest but my gumtree ads are, so people find me anyway through that.

Oh, and never pay for a featured ad, I did it once and got less interest than non-featured ads!!
I don't know about anyone else but even I scan straight past the featured ones so not overly surprised.

Have used it to advertise for staff in areas that are not local to us.
Used it for Lancashire and North Cumbria, and was inundated with
people wanting work.

Andrew.
