Title: Starting a new window cleaning round.

Does anyone out there know how to check whether an area or housing estate etc, is already being covered for window cleaning, short of door canvassing etc.

cannot imagine any other way other than knocking and asking...maybe every house in 5 or something ???
Or you can walk up to the houses and check out the condition of the windows...and probably wake up 2 or 3 days later when some over zealous neighbourhood watch chairman fills you in!! ;D

I can't image there are may places that won't already have someone maybe even two or three people already working the estate.
You just have to get over that and go. However, a clearly defined estate is more likey to be somebody's territory which he has built up a foothold as the "resident" cleaner.

Don't worry about it, window cleaners are all over the place, canvas honestly and don't try to undercut the opposition!!

If anyone comes up to you claiming it's their patch, tough, I do work on a couple of estates and I know of at least 7 other window cleaners that also work the area.

Anyone who claims this area or that area is 'their' patch and theirs alone needs to wake up and smell the coffee :(
It's called free trade and competition!!
