Tel 01993 822405

Dear Sir/Madam,
As you will probably be aware we
have maintained our prices for over two years now,
absorbing many increases in our costs, especially
fuel, motor expenses, and particularly insurance
both for the vans and the businesses public liability    insurance.
It is with regret that we cannot
continue to absorb these increases and have to put
up our prices, so from next month (March) the cost
for  your window cleaning will be £

We thank you for your business in
the past, and look forward to providing you with our
usual high levels of service in the future,
          Yours Faithfully,

          Stephen Rix

Dont need to put prices up :) we earn enuff for what we do i think some people on hear forget that they are window cleaners and window cleaners on 40 an hour is insane but i do love it! Why put them up u risk loosing customers to other cleaners with smaller roands like me for example i have 26 grand a year and im scared tp put my prices up as therez are so many people that will do it cheaper.

Dear Householder,

Price Increase Notification

I don't know whether you are one of my customers as all my records got nicked and all my staff (except one) have left me. But I'll take a chance that you are.

The one staffie that is left is holding me to ransom so I'm doubling your prices. Also I am investing in my resin re-washing plant which will allow me to clean your windows in a more environmentally beneficial way.

If I hit VAT registration turnover I'll be back for another 20%.

If I have another idea between now and the weekend I'll let you know pronto.

Yours truly,

R. Wiltshire
Managing Director
P.S. If a guy callinghimself LondonCleaners comes round knocking; well take it from me - he's just a carwash geezer - not a proper windie see.

Very good gold cud u email that to me please should go down well with customs haha

Deansi why not put prices up ur taking a pay cut otherwise if you do not move with the times so why put time and effort into ur career for a payout

I'm doing the price rise to weed out the messers who can't afford service at moment but you know the ones who accept should be quote loyal, any I do lose should kinda be covered with the price rise of ones I keep

                   Dear Customer

Due to the increased cost in running a small business ( mainly insurance & fuel costs),  regretfully we must raise the cost of our service to you.

We have avoided this price increase for as long as possible however we are unable to prolong the inevitable.

Enclosed please find our new price for your review.  The new price will be applied to your next clean.

We wish to thank you for your valued custom and hope that you will  understand the need for this price increase.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

                 Previous price     £

                 Your new price    £

IF YOU ARE PAYING BY DIRECT BANKING, PLEASE AMEND YOUR PAYMENT

             Regards

R. Sole

They are both too apologetic. And it is a mistake to link to fuel or insurance price.

To Sunshine,
By identifying two honest and simple reasons for the increase, you are giving them 2 less reasons to question it
In sales, if you have a query, you identify it, specify it to the person and overcome it by giving an honest answer.   It always works - check any sales manual.

I would not put Price increase, I would call it a price change.

Kessa
Do you do any work in the bispham area.

In sales, if you have a query, you identify it, specify it to the person and overcome it by giving an honest answer.   It always works - check any sales manual.

The problem is that you give the customer a specific marker as to how much they feel the increase should be.

Fuel and insurance wont have gone up by the % of increase given and the customer will know this, therefore it is not a honest statement.

I agree with Ian, "we review the price every two years and this is your new price".

I think of myself as a business man not as a window cleaner.  that is what is holding you back form earning more.

People need to understand the amount of other work we have to do that is unpaid I.e quoting, paperwork, vehicle repairs, system repairs ok some might not have as many problems as others but as you get bigger and chase debts and do telesales etc all this is unpaid labour

Richy

Nobody does unpaid work including you, when you run a business you have to budget into your price all of these things you have mentioned.

So your takings from cleaning a customers house will be paying for this, so its not Unpaid.

If you do a proper business plan, you need to factor into it, all the costs involved in running your business, you can then work out a correct price which pays for all of these things and you then factor in a profit margin.

I think that is what he means. Work done where there is no imediate cash return.
