Used George canvassing services yesterday & have to say very pleased.
He's very professional & friendly with customers easy going way with him.
I just don't have time to be out in evening after working in day so this is a great service
He got an extra £100 on round when it was freezing also the round seemed a bit hard as few various trad lads on it.

He was £50 expenses (2hrs away from me)
And it takes first 2 cleans,you pay him once 1st clean is done also same with 2nd win win really...

Did you give him a minimum amount required? Just asking coz I'd like about another £200 to top my round up but always thought a canvasser wouldn't touch it ??

I really dont know where you got hijacking from,i was wishing GD well,as we canvassed that area heavily last year for a French window cleaner,i have absolutly no interest in canvassing up there,as we have quite alot on our plate down here.As for Mr Bass,just read the threads b4 i even started to work for him,that should tell you what he is like,also i dont want people to go through what certain other WC`s have been through with him,You are entitled to your opinons about me....just ask about 80 window cleaners that i have worked with,what Tom & I ARE ABOUT.

Nick to be honest the fact you canvassed grantham last year is irrelevant. I have recanvassed areas I have done for myself after a few months and always come out with more work. 300 in grantham is the tip of the iceberg... I did an estate last week that has been marketed very hard for the last three years and come out with 120 quids worth of work in under 3 hours.

I am ending my connections with these other companies over the next few months to concentrate on the canvassing company full time. You are right that getting the right staff is paramount to making this work but I will always put my money where my mouth is and stick to split payments and only getting paid when the work has been cleaned. This will make sure I recruit correctly and never put any work in thats not as asked, cos I wont get paid for it if I do....
I am truelly looking to change the game and be the biggest and best in the country at round building.

GD I must say I've never ead so much good press on here about a canvasser. This place usually reads like an anti canvasser forum so you must being doing an exceptional job my friend, keep up the good work and speak soon bud!

George out of interest. How would you go about Commercial? If you don't want to discuss it on an open forum in front of your competition I understand. I can speak to you tomorrow over the phone. I just wondering what techniques you'd use and what charges you'd need to set your talent to doing that

Its just a case of getting on the phone to start and find interested companies then move it through to a meeting. I have worked in business development in all kinds of industries for the last ten years so would bring the combined knowledge and make sure we succeeded...

George, good answer! I've seen that in practise and I know it works, I just look for excuses to not use the phone myself.
How about I sell my house and move down the road from you. Then you do the sales and I do the cleaning. Then we split the profit 50/50? ;D

I've just begun in my area-i select different roads and make a note of those who are not at home. I haven't got leaflets as i prefer a face to face approach. Actually the most common reply i receive is that there seem to be so many people canvassing for window cleaners!!! Many people say they have had several leaflets delivered and seen people face to face. I have tried many streets in different parts of the town as well. No customers yet!!!

George it wasnt a dig lets face it you only need them to stick 2 cleans when it takes a good 4-6 months to wean the crap out.I was a canvasser for years. Canvassing is having gift of the gab end of!! Its talking your way into your target market using any means possibe that work if you say otherwise your even blagging yourself. You cant hand on heart say you and your canvassers dont say anything you can to get the job Hence why you must be canvassing for other people and not Building yourself up as if you was doing it for yourself you would be tredding more careful and only targetting you prefered market unlike hitting easy terrace and new build housing where its easy to get 250 of new work for an evenings canvas. You do make out your something else to be honest!! If you was bright you would have a mustard window cleaning business 3-5 vans out with regular repeat top priced quality work and not be canvassing for others for a poxy 2x doing unregular work.
Hopefully you will do well and i wish you all the best that you have work to tie you all year round canvassing without upsetting anybody as it takes just 1 to ruin your reputation ,fair play to you yours is spot on at the mo.

Hand on heart I only take on customers that I would have took on myself when I had my round. I have no need or desire to give people clients who are not looking for a regular cleaner, yes some will cancel but I am looking to build long term relationships and the work gained will overall allow for the cancellations.
The reason I dont have or want my own rounds is the hassle that comes with it, I am happy to earn my poxy two cleans and help people build their businesses while doing it.
The terms I do business with proves without any doubt that I try my best for everyone and I will always stand by that.
You have just made things a little clearer by telling me you are an ex canvasser...

If you read my earlier posts when i joined i too was canvassing and had grief galore lol. Anyway all the best gd you sound a fair chap even though im right what im saying i do hope you rule the game and change how the ball rolls for the better.

Its a very good point, pricing is very area specific. I work closely with my customers to achieve prices they are happy with but achievable. Every one of my customers is happy with the prices I have got for them so far.

Hi George, do you mind if I ask a question -whats your success rate like? As we know it's a numbers game and sometimes you can hit a purple patch and other times not
( eg , 2.5 hours for me today and 7 new customers)Can you put your finger on what works best for you or is it just the time spent knocking?Obviously I don't ask you to give up your magic formula but am I too far wide of the mark? If not , do you ever need a subbie ? ;D

Hi Roy,
7 in two and a half hours sounds good, the general thought is 1 in 10 people you speak to but that covers all kinds of areas. The key to consistant results is choosing your areas carefully and always having a plan b if your first choice not going well. My best day this year worked out at 1 in 3 which is unusual but I always tend to better than the 1 in 10 but that works as a good baseline so if you speak to 100 people which would be hard, you should come out with 10 jobs making it a worhwhile day....

hi george i will drop you an email tommorow about canvassing shrewsbury bin snowed under with work this week but am defo wanting to re book you in ;D snow was hear on the monday and was gone by the tuesday but has been very cold and icey. have to disscuss a time thats best for you if you reqire me to clean the day after canvassing i am booked up untill end of the month so would have to be start of march. but not sure how you want to do it all it is my shrewsbury stuff isnt due again till start of march and would want to keep the work on the same roand. hope this helps and look forward to hearing of you. deanlawrence89@hotmail.co.uk

It's a pity that I don't get more time to canvass as I find it's the part of the business I love most( a bit sadistic I know!!)but I have to jump on the tools every so often to help my small team out.
