Can anyone please confirm for me that a soft water area does not need a osmosis system. I have been told by some one iI respect but just need to know if that is not just a personal thought , thank you

my tap tds is 35 most of the time so im DI only.its dead simple to purify my water for a days work.i use around 2-3 bags of resin a year using around 5000L a month.
i use a monster 25L DI vessel and a 2.7L small one on occasions.it takes an hour to fill my 350L tank every evening.

Depends how soft it is

We are at 60-75 and use a double DI, usually get through 2-3 bags per year.
I would say anything above 100 you should use RO. Unless of course you are very part time.

Daz u lucky f***er
was just going say something simular, 1 hour to fill and can use custys tap if you run dry >:(
not sure what the tds is around stoke-on-trent but i reckon its over 300,anyone no what it is???

As above , anything lower than 100 ppm is worth going di only , if your not on a meter go for ro and di , cheaper in the long run , my average tds over the year is about 100 so only ever used di , however as we now have 3 kids the water company has capped our bill to £500 no matter what we use , so i now have an ro system that pumps 000ppm into an ibc all day long ;D

How long would resin last roughly @ 150 litres, and what Di size would I need thanks
-
Not sure what you meant by the last post ......but as a rough guide , get a calculator put in 500000 then divide this by your tds amount that will give you what 1 bag of resin should give you in pure litres of water .
Failing that , go to the Gardiner pole systems site , the had a resin calculator there .

This should help.

Cheers LAAAAWWWW !
By the way , if your tds is that low you will probably only need a 6x18 di vessel , 1 bag of resin will fill this size 4 times , if you can afford a bigger vessel to start then get one as it will save resin changes as you get busier,

I fill at 2 different locations (within 3 miles of each other)
One is 029 ;D and the other is ~340 :( figure that one out.

Thanks I should get 2 months from a bag of resin, deffo be fine whilst starting, then I can add the Di at the end of an ro when I get one, does that sound right?
-
By Jove i think the man has it , thats the way to do it .
Dont run before you can walk , first lesson in this biz , i learnt the hard way !
