Gets to my little village school at 7am this morning as I like to be done before everyone arrives.
Caretaker lives next door.
7.10am caretaker comes up and says "oh dont think the head wants them done this early"
what at 7am says me .... confused.
No in January ... its too early
oh really says me .... told you I was all year round service when I started.
hmmmm she says let me text the head see what she says but stop for now
2 minutes later out she comes and says "hope we didnt put you out but can you leave it to March"
so trying to remain calm I says ... well actually you have put me out as got up specially early to do this job and made the jouney specially to come here ... tell you what dont call me in March as too busy to be messed about by people like you.
wasnt happy I can tell you but job replaced at 5pm tonight with a farmhouse so day ended well.
some of these fucjers really p iss me off

ian, i always phone a few days before to let them know i will be there, just habit i suppose, and no surprised, do you not call your contract work before going there
-
I take it they didn't moan when you cleaned in dec?? Or is this a new job?
You wanna invoice for time and fuel fella
-
Id invoice them for something not your fault fella ,i feel your pain.
-
^^^ ye put the bill in

The school will have a budget, they will have used it up by now, if it is nicely priced job monthly it is a shame to throw it away because of this incident, they should have mentioned this before however so I don't blame you, I may have reacted differently, but I may have did the same, depending on price and my mood

half a dozen eggs? :D ;D
-
dump and get two more

Schools only normally get done once per term. Were you clear with your frequency at your quoting stage?
I mean "I come all year round" is not a clear frequency.
-
Yes Tosh once a month ... Only a little job this 15 quid for a dozen windows so not a school job in the usual sense but annoyed at 7am to get a not this time

Then charge them for todays clean and advise them that if they wish to have less frequency than agreed, the price will rise to.........
Sometimes it's about the principle(excuse the pun ;D) not the money
Mind you where is the hope for our kids if the headteacher can't understand "agreement" & "once a month" :)

Certain custards are a bloody nightmare mate, I would try & shrug it off and go back in March, then stipulate in writing what your terms are, ask what she wants, try and agree and move on.
-
Never go back they get no 2nd or 3rd strike these days too much proper work out there but have learnt from it will quote any schools in future quarterly or half yearly and price accordingly caretaker pee ed me off in November when she tried to underpay me by a fiver !! Still do 5 houses on her close so not all bad it was just a nice little extra when doing the 5 houses.

Fair enough. ;)

I only work for people that can keep their end of a bargain ... call me old fashioned like that .. used to give them 2nd and even 3rd chances but once a messer ALWAYS a messer.
World is full of proper customers however world is not full of proper window cleaners so I can easily replace them which I have already.
The terminology or ethos of being pro applied to my business means me putting me and my family first and NOT messers as they will damage my daily earnings potential and to allow that is both unproffesional and naive.
