Do Santander or the Co-Op show payment references on the statement (ie. the address of the customer) for:
a) standing orders
b) BACS
Also interested to hear general experiences of business banking with Llloyds, Co-Op, Barclays and HSBC.
How efficient are they, do they make many mistakes, charges etc?

I bank with santander and they are by far the best ive banked with. Natwest and barcleys are c**ts.
-
Reference will be there if your customers put it only.
I am with santander, only problem I've found, your 'available' balance is never right. Cheques will say cleared but have not been added to your balance. Which can mess you up sometimes.

I have just switched my personal from natwest to satander, I will also be moving my business account to them soon so this is good to hear :)

Lloyds here for 18months and no problems with them at all.
Shows the customers name of the account it has been paid from and they can put a reference on there too.
-
No probs HSBC - but charges creep up - but in fairness so has the throughput of funds.
-
HSBC- not had any probs, charge well, but can't compare any other biz bank.
as for transfers the custy does need to put a ref on, not 'window/ cleaner' ;D have had a couple that have done that
i do have a couple that dont put ref, but there name comes up so long as you have the name on your books that matches the name of there bank account ;D
i love it, i do make a point of telling custies it cost me about a pound to cash a chq

im with the co-op and have no problems with them. i have my business banking with santander and it takes them an extra day to clear cheques the greedy numptys. if you are bothered whether your bank accepts customers who deal in arms trading, or corrupt governments etc then I would strongly recommend the co-op as they dont take none of that crap. plus they were the only high street bank to make a profit during the recession, rather than costing the tax payer billions as the rest of the banks have done
