Title: Thinking of starting a cleaning business
Post by: irjones on December 22, 2005, 12:53:09 am
Hi,
after working in the care sector for the last 7 yrs, I have found that I spend a lot of my time cleaning  the toilets and bathrooms of a home I am working at, this is due to the fact that the lady who does this job has left.
Which between supporting the tenants cooking and cleaning, seems all I do so I thought to myself why don't I do this as a full time job and work for myself.
How is the best way to start  ? How do you quote for a job ?

Any advice would be a real help.
I live in the South West.

Many thanks Iain

Hi,

You should see your local Business Link try this link: http://www.businesslinksomerset.co.uk/

or this one: https://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/findcontactdetail?r.s=sl&type=CONTACT&itemId=1073859820

I would not tell you how to quote for a commercial job because I generally work on domestic market.  I am going to get some training, http://www.assetskills.org/site/Portals/0/training/cleaningnqf.pdf this should help me to move in to commercial field with more confidence.

Good Luck

Arthur
