Title: 10" prefilters
Post by: Mike55 on January 25, 2012, 05:46:42 pm
Time to change my 10" prefilters.

Quick question if someone wouldn't mind answering.

I have 2 on my facelift static system.  I think they are carbon and sediment filters.

Question - the prices on the net range from around £7 for both filters to over double that.  Are the filters standard fit and if so is the price generally a reflection on the quality?

I use two 10" - I've bought one off eBay for £6.80 with free postage and some off ionics for double - they both lasted the same

as soon as they start to slow down change them, when they slow they get clogged up,

I used to change mine monthly, but I change now when starting to slow down, make no difference IMO

ive heard about every 3 months or so.  would have thought depends on how clean your water is, how much you use, etc.

heard on here recently from someone who bought from Gaps Water, she apparently is now selling 2 different ones, one being higher quality.  So guess you can get different ones.......
