iv got too price a job thats on a bit of a budget they have 138 metres of commercial guttering box type to clear and clean the gutters are pretty full with wat looks like small shrubs growing out of them.
he jokingly said its wont cost more than a hundred quid will it!!
going off 5 quid a metre its 700 quid what prices do people quote for commercial guttering
-
Guttervac or ladders? All you can do is work out how long you think it will take and use your hourly rate. Not sure but a fiver a metre sounds alot...
-
Last one I did was just before Xmas - £2.50 a metre for a similar sized job. Have been blown out at £3 a metre before.
It all depends on custy, area and competition. Some are happy to pay top dollar, some have a fit. I don't think there will ever be a standard price for this job - too many variables. However I would say that £5 sounds bit high so maybe be prepared to come down (how long will it take?)

surely a cherry picker job
gutter vac wont get trees out of box gutters ?
been there already
-
Take some photo's Rich. I'm on a big gutter job today myself.
-
Cherry picker sounds expensive, if you got to bring kit in to do it then of course the price goes up. I have never done gutters so just asking to learn....
-
Hi, I believe £5.00 a meter is shockingly high. I have just completed a gutter vacuum job and when invoicing them they advised me another firm at this crazy£5.00 a meter lark. Hence I invoiced them not the other firm.
-
its not just clearing them we are cleaning them too, i reckon the work we have been asked to do would take a day and half, its gutter clean and clear inc downpipes, cladding cleaning 60metre sq, pressure washing 40metre sq and prob having to clean about 10 very large windows
-
I might be wrong but that surely changes the way you price the job as its not just a stand alone job? If its going to take a day and a half charge a day and a halfs money?
-
i was hoping they have eyebolts so we can harness to the roof and walk along it
-
So this is not just a gutter clean.
I can see you have some difficult decisions when pricing work
I have a pricing structure and advice sheets if you'd like them mate

That's would be great thanks mate I don't usually have a problem pricing I don't have any set method just take each job and see what I think it's worth to me just knew price was an issue on this one

Hi Rich,
It all depends on the difficulty of the job. Height, access and the state of the gutters. I've got a job tomorrow which is almost £2k for less 200 metres of gutter. But last week we did a gutter clean of 250 metres for around £800.
You just need to get a feel as to what the client/job is worth/willing to pay.
Cheers,
Huw

Hi Richy,
They were both cherry picker jobs.
Although I was speaking to another gutter cleaning professional the other day who charges more than that when using the gutter vac system....nice work if you can get it!
