Title: Van advice nissan vannete or other?

Looked at Nissan Vannette with 2 sliding doors and rear opener..

2.3 d carying weight about 800 kg weight so plenty are the good and is it right choice for starting off.. will have 400- and a 200 litre tank in one with pure water and one tap water warm for fascias and guter clean.

my first van was one of these ... great solid thing .... just wont get u anywhere fast but if like me money and reliability was more important than speed then u wont regret it

Thanks dont want fast just reliable and gets me ststed cheers... How was your set up like in this any advice on that cheers

Hi the vanette was my first van when I went wfp it was a good work horse the engine is bullet proof but make sure you check the chassis cos they do rot a bit

I am on my second Vanette. Started WFP in 2008 with a ten year old Vanette that lasted two years.

Bought another two years ago and still going strong.

Careful of the rust, they always need some kind of welding doing at MOT time and the engine position can be a pain when you first get them.

Interestingly both of my Vanettes had very low mileage, 73,000 miles on a ten year old van and one owner who ran a newsagents and just went to the cash & carry and back. This is because they were never really popular with builders or tradesmen so they don't suffer that 200,000 miles syndrome most Transits have.

Good, solid, slow vans.

i,ve just brought a toyota hiace on the stenghth of my dads 600,000 miler. they`re a ledgend when it comes to reliability.

just run in at 600k .... bulletproof vans .... sold plenty of em before becoming a window cleaner

I had a vannette e for 3 yrs,
As been said previously,
 reliable engine
 Can rot underneath
  Not very nice to drive, slow & noisey
  + side cheap to buy
