i know this may seem strange but given that these brushes/poles are sooooo light would it be feasible to use a slx 35 as a every day brush.
I want to move away from Harris poles, nothing wrong with them just i feel after 3 years its time to treat myself and i happen to have a play around with a slx35 that Richard speech has and i couldn't believe how light it was and my train of thought is that if i am going to get a good pole i would get the 35 and new radius sill brush(now that dazmond as given his seal of approval :D) and a aqua adapter and that way i am covering all my bases,so to speak,i can use it on everyday domestics and when needed the odd/big jobs we get.
so what do you think(go easy on me :D)

Ok mate,
Hope you feel better soon,
As regards to the 35 slx as an everyday pole, you would be better off usimg yoir harris.
Splash out and get a slx 18 aswell as the 35.
If you look after it, it will last a long time.
My first slx 18 lasted 2 1/2 years, and i didnt really look after it.
Hope this helps

i use a slx 30 somedays allday,superb!
-
SLX 22 EVERYDAY WITHOUT FAIL. carbon gooseneck 10" ,medium dual trim sill brush ,bucket of unger microfibres and im sorted. for 99.9% of my day, i wagtail the odds. ;D
3 storey and above ( 5 days a month ) elite 30 with gardiner dual tim on standard adjustable adaptor) :(
soon to be replaced with a new slx or supermax and goose neck, sill brush configuration. ;D
-
I've used an SLX 25 all day every day for 4 years, superb pole. However, my honest opinion is the 35ft would be a step too far for an every day pole.
If you wanted to, you could remove two sections & then use it as an every day pole adding the other sections when required, just buy the extra butt cap. You would lose the "insulation" of the base section though- unless you also bought an SLX25 base section extra.
-
I use my SLX35 all day with ease, whats wrong with everyone?
-
Another problem using a large pole for everyday use is the extra pole hose dragging around, it would, imo, be a pita.
The easier you can make the job the better, less tired at the end of the day means you can earn more money,

go for it, I only use slx saves time swopping poles, lite enough to use allday everyday.

like winpro.get a 25ft SLX.i use mine for all my work from ground floor to 3 storey.if you need a bigger pole for a few jobs buy an ali brodex 36 footer.cheap and solid and will be ok to use for a bit.
an 18 ft or 22ft is just not long enough for quite a few domestic jobs of mine.
why do you want a 35 footer?
-
35footer is too long when you only need that length a few times a month.in fact i dont have any work over my 31 foot reach!!i bet you dont either.
25ft is plenty for most domestic.so youll be carrying an extra 2 sections about for most of your work that are not needed!!
-
Yes an SLX35 can be used all day every day, I have a friend that does so and loves it. But I think if you had the cash it would be good to get the 35 and also a shorter pole as well like an SLX18 or 22, you would be astounded at how light these are and the effect that they will have on your working practice.

think i am converted! ;D

I use a Slx 18 foot pole as an everyday pole; why cart about longer when 97% of the time I don't need too. Most of my work is just two story (ground and first). I've a 27" CLX for higher.
I work with an outside hose, and on areas where I've got a lot of ground floor work I'll even run around and do the high stuff and then unscrew the light brush head and put it on a short fishing pole - it couldn't be lighter and easier to work with.
It feels like I'm cheating really.
-
Slx 22 for me , was going to get a slx 25 , but it has a longer closed length , slx 22 has the same closed length as the slx 18, but is more versatile.
Coupled with an aquadapter, and a medium double trim sill brush, it makes a great every day pole.

we do actually, every two months we have a block of flats at least four storey and 4 dormer windows on the roof-line set back slightly,so the 35 would probably do it,i think on balance i will go for the 35 and just remove one or two sections, fit a pole cap on to it and just reassemble for the big jobs

seems the best idea

The SLX35 covers all my work. I regularly use the full lenth every week.
Why mess about with 2 poles, when does all?
Its not heavy to work with at all, just get a nice light brush & its perfect.

and when the other one % is due i will have to grovel to you for the "brodex beast" and i think your hire charges are too high ;D

That's what I would do.
I think the question is more- would you want to, rather than can you- use a 35ft pole all day everyday, especially when it's not needed 90% of that time. ;)
I "could" use my Xtreme 48 as an everyday pole but it would be silly & I wouldn't want to.

My 4 and a half year old slx30 is used as a 20ft most of the time and the extra sections put on as necessary.
-
was using a 35ft every day put was getting problems with me elbow joints,so brought a 25ft slx and problem gone away.
the 35 now sits in the van gathering dust,as i now have a s-max 45,so it doesnt get used.
