Post by: Tom Kelly on January 19, 2012, 10:37:07 am
Good Morning!

Just wondering which of you guys are planning to go to Windex this year?

If not, why not?

Thanks  :)

Tom!

No, I have a diy system that will probably last forever so I'm only interested in poles, brushes etc. When the rest catch up with Gardiners I might have a nosey. Until then I'm more than confident I already have the best! ;D

I think we should petition Alex to get a stand there as his brushes are flipping awesome and I want to see to see them all. also his poles.

I should be going as long as I am not booked for them days  ;D

Apparently this year has a very poor turn out, I have been told by some one who has a trade stand at the show this year. I think your find its going to be a flop.

i wont be going.ive never been to one either!!i find ive got the best equipment i can afford.pure freedom trolley, gardiners 350L TANK,reel, microbore,SLX pole,aqua-daptor,radius sill brush with scraper, unger ergotech squeegees, applicators, hand scrapers,gg3/squeegee off.

i really dont need anything apart from maybe a hot system but thats more of a luxury rather than an essential piece of kit!!

for a sole trader i dont see the point really!!id rather be out there cleaning earning a few quid!! ;) ;D ;D ;D

best wishes to you all

There's more to it than looking at equipment

Every year I go for 2 days, it takes me all day just to walk round once. Always surprises me when people march around in 10 mins flat and say it is rubbish.

There are so many networking opportunities, I have gained enormously through these trade shows over the years.

Looking at the list, there is not really any of the companies that have anything that interest me.

If Gardiners were there, I'd go, as for me, they are at the forefront of this industry, and innovate above everyone else to bring us improved products year on year. Everyone else is playing catch up I'm afraid, and that's fact.

Because of their innovations, Gardiners get 99% of my business, even if I can source the part elsewhere slightly cheaper. I am loyal to them, as I admire what they bring us, and their approach to business. I firmly believe we would struggle to do the numbers we do if we used Brodex poles and brushes, the lads would be dead on their feet by 9.30.

Come on Alex, she'll outsome dough,  as Cornwall is too far for me to go to get my hands on your pole  ;D

I think windex should pay Alex to attend, they would then be rammed for the two days.
But then all the other exhibitors may pull out

Not quite as daft an idea as you might think.

Would give the competition something to strive to anyway, they really need to up their game.

Well can I change my vote? I said yes but now I've seen who"s there I'll change my mind. Pure freedom ain't there neither are brodex. Not a big fan of brodex only due to the cost but it says something if these people aren't there as they usually do them all. It does pee me off as well that Alex doesn't do shows.

Oh dear, I voted maybe but after seeing who is there I will pass also.
I know I should support these shows as I will moan when they stop but as a sole trader there is very little there for me.
Will earn some money those days
