getting to busy . but cant stop taking new clients on .am i making a mistake .
-
Nope busy is good
Imagine the opposite problem and what that would feel like :)
Only thing i would do is if the new work sticks and are good custys at good prices either a. sell off your tat work , or b. bang up old work prices , and lose a few and have same money for less work
Im currently doing B to all my round
When im finished if i have to much i will sell some off or rent a bit out to someone who needs a day here /there
ps there is a c and that is work longer / harder :)

Would love to be in your position, how long you been going for?

Im in the same position,
Dont want to spend my life working my guts out,
But dont want to employ either.
Decisions decisions ?????
-
Cut the crap keep the cream
I dont want to work my guts off all my life and dont want to employ
BUT i want holidays etc SO
I am refining my round till i get maximum returns for 4 days a week
Im aiming for good paying domestic 3 days and commercial one day
Work is work no matter how you dress it up , but you can work smarter instead of harder and with window cleaning you can earn a good wedge with the right work , just got to keep your overheads down
Plus its all subjective , my GOOd wage might be peanuts to the guy who wants flash cars and big homes
It all depends what you want, staff might be the only way to get it

Me or sunshine?
Both.

Ive had to much work for years. Cant remember the last time i cleaned a customers house on time (6 weekly) ... and I employ.
Reluctant to drop any work or sell any, and still accept new customers.
2nd van soon
-
I've been in the same position for the last year. It's good financially but sometimes all work and no play is a bad thing.
-
Fulltime for 4 years now
Been doing a bit for a yr or so longer than that though
I havent really pushed since the first year or two and 50% of my rounds i have bought
Time to have a big push now though to refine about 50 % (mainly the stuff i bought) which is compacy but below my average price
HAving roughly a 30% rise march-april and going to canvass for another £1500 or so this year
Where you upto with your rounds?
-
actually ive been on my own for 2 months. but sounds as if ive done good but i bought a round locally which is been a blessing. but now i pick up few on my travels , more than what i anticipated to be honest. i think come april interest will go mad. if that happens then not sure what to do . but saying that some of the comments on here have giving me food for thought

Sounds like you got it sussed ;)
Not doing as good as you; I have only started! I have 3 customers now and 3 on hold for when I get a wfp in next few weeks (arkward windows) and have only canvassed for 5 hours in total so I know theres work to be had, and from the advice I get off this forum hoping to have a full round in 6 months.
When you started how many houses could you average in a day compared to what you can average now; have you got much quicker?
-
When i started i was living at home and working with another lad so i got to learn slowly
But i was SLOOOW
This is trad
But after being full time it got easier and easier to do say £15o in a day
It went from being an unreachable number to being a whole days real graft
to 6 hours at a fast pace to 6 hours in auto pilot
It just takes time
wfp will be the same i am on that learning curve again now and work gets faster every time
Obviously compared to trad with wfp you will be a step ahead from day one
But i used to think it was all about speed and being faster and faster but then i hated work as it always meant running around
Now i find a good balance of compact work , well priced work , good gear and a brisk pace and no faffing is the way forward..... work is just that WORK . But you can find ways to speed up and bump up your wage

The truth is having too many customers does you or them no favours, you can only go out to work and clean so many days a month, you dont earn any more money by being behind and the customers get used to a longer frequency.
You just need a tad over 4 weeks work then any more than that is pointless...

Thats good to hear. When I get a wfp im doing all tops wfp, the rest trad so that should speed things up. Also my first cleans have taken an hour (approx) which is slow but want to do a good jobs too so I think I could do them in 30 mins next month :)
-
i would be interested in selling some but i would have to sell a good days load to make it worth your while you would also need a long pole on some jobs so thats essential. send me your email and i will keep you informed. iv been cleaning windows for 4 months working for someone else and for myself for 2 months 6 months total ive learned a lot 70 per cent wfp and 29 percent trad but the work i would be interested in selling would be all wfp. never do 1 off cleans i dont believe in them its either monthly or bimonthly. it takes too much water and messes your day up
