Put a price on a job this week which we should 90 % get
It will mean alot of hard pole work above 35-45 foot
would the best choice be an sl2 or a 47 foot supermax
Only about £100 in the price but i reckon i can use the s max easier on our larger domestics
But sl2 goes higher and is lighter i think?
Thoughts?
ps i could add sections to the sl2 to go higher right? this would be an advantage too

cut and pasted from another forumtopic working at 50ft+
A big part of the problems at height IMO is the pole. The heavier & more flexible the pole the harder the job, less accuracy, more fatigue etc etc lends to a worse job in my experience.
Even an Smax at 45-55ft is hard work & heavy. If this job (& others) warrant the spend, the best advice I could give you is to invest in either an SL2 or Xtreme pole. You'll not believe the difference it makes to the job!!
The SL2 really is the business at those heights, better than the Xtreme in actual use at height. Being modular has it's down sides though & it's no where near as robust as the Xtreme- however it is the ultimate above 50ft!
The brush also makes a huge difference at those heights & I would recommend the wide Xtreme.
The investment will more than pay for itself in the time saved & ease of use.

thats my thread and why im offering a go of it, their bloody great poles but SL2 if going above sounds the best advice

yes ste sorry that was not ment to cut down what you had said, just putting a bit more meat on the bones :-[

Thanks
SL2 it is then
THis job actually goes above 60 foot but there still renovating the higher 2 floors but in next few years they will want doing so part of me felt i should get sl2 to be able to add sections and go higher
I just wanted smax for domestic but might get slx 35 for higher domestic stuff
Cheers

Don't forget the Xtreme pole, you can add sections to that too up to approx 80ft.

Pricey aren't they but i will look at them
Its gonna set me back 1k for the sl2
Don't fancy much more as i can spend that on a new slx for domestic
The job is 2k for the initial clean so i was happy with £750 on the smax so dont wanna lose more than 1k or first clean will feel like working for free :)
See if i bag the job 1st then i will have to make a decision and splash the cash
Be handy having a pole that goes to 60 foot as i can go and target higher stuff ! I currently have a 45 foot pole but it weighs the same as a small elephant so i dont advertise the fact i can do high stuff :)
It gets used about 1 hour a month - begrudgingly !

When/if the time comes & you want an in-depth explanation on both the SL2 & Xtreme give me a shout. I've used both at height & although there's not much between them, the Xtreme might suit you better in situations other than just this one job. Although IMO the SL2 just nips it at 45ft+, it does have other downsides compared to the Xtreme. ;)

No problem, it is a lot of dosh & so better to make the right decision. Where are you based Sean?
You can try my Xtreme if you are near the North East.
