soft hose option at £0 when you want to buy a pole at gardiner, what is it please? ???
-
Probably soft hose.
-
Are you sure? lol
ok but soft hose, is it better? what is the advantage of it?
-
Stays flexible in cold weather but can be a bit floppy in hot weather.
-
I don't rate either, but this time of year the soft would be easier to work with.
-
thank you mark for the reply. :)

Untill you catch it on a bramble bush or sharp edge, then your have more leaks than a watering can...
-
I have been using soft hose on 3 poles for about a year with no problems.
Got a new pole a couple of weeks ago which came with a much stiffer hose.
Horrible to work with, and the first frosty day we had its snapped in half.
I honestly don't know why they are selling it. It is not fit for purpose,

is the soft one the very bright yellow one

We no longer have this soft hose option available on the poles. Due to customer feedback we have just introduced a medium softness hose that replaces all of the previous types. This is soft enough to stay supple during cold weather, but tough enough to resist general use. It can also be used in 8mm push-fit John Guest fittings without the need for stem to barb inserts.
The standard stiff pole hose that we had previously been selling (last 5 months) is no longer supplied on the poles, but is on sale in 30m and 100m lengths for those users that preferred it.
We had tried to have two types of pole hose for those that liked a stiffer hose and those that liked a softer hose, but found that this actually resulted in confusion and less people being pleased with what they were using. So now we have gone for a 'middle of the road' option which should suit most people and will cause less confusion. Personally having worked with all types I prefer the new standard type that we are now using.

I have a very bright yellow one thats hard hose and very annoying as tangles badly.
I'm hoping when I buy another pole in next couple of days they have there hoses chanaged again as last stuff I bought I chucked away after a couple of weeks.
I wonder why someone cant come up with a pole hose that works in all weather (now theres a thought ::) )

Hi sfwc
The new hose is now being fitted as standard on all poles ordered. We do not have it for sale yet on its own, as we are awaiting a bulk supply in later this month. When this comes in we will also be able to offer it for sale on its own (100m, 30m and per metre). This will be sold as our 'new' standard pole hose on the website.

I got the new pole today, 24 hour delivery turn around as promised but Alex's team :)
On first glance, not use yet it does seem a lot more supple than the last yellow hose I chicked away, so thats a plus point.
I am in meetings in london tomorrow and saturday so will not be testing the pole till monday, remind me and I will let you know my findings on it, i'm quite hard to please so this should be interesting.
I have to point out one thing with this clx 27 pole, there is a different type of plastic goose neck, i think it is called the resi neck (I may have spelt that wrong but thats nothing abnormal for me. this seem to look a l lot strounger than the others I have on all the other poles, as it goes the new guy today cracked that older type one we have on the training pole, so will be good to test this out also.
not sure the point of the connection on the pole hose with the black hose mender but sure there is method in Alex's madness for this, I will ready the instructions on this occasion to see what it is for before binning it :)
On first looks I am impressed so thats a good start.
Ian
p.s I also got a spare brush sent by mistake, which is a sill brush now that looks an awesome bit of kit not sure if to send it back of not as could test that out aswell, we all know Alex changes brusghes like the wind and to be honest this one does feel impressive in the hand.. we will see on that. :-\
-
The black 'hose mender' is a John Guest push fit fitting. It means you can change the resi- neck or add and remove sections on the more expensive poles very quickly. The top clamp is the quick release clamp.

-
bump......

all ordered ;)
have you used the new pole hose.
-
alex. we bought a roll of the stiff hose from you back end of last year and during the cold snaps have had two hose breakages. Not recommended during cold weather, am dreading our other pole going.

SFWC:
My guy has been using the pole hose all week without fault.
I used the new pole and hose all day on Thursday, Resi Neck is Awesome if you dont have one get one..
also used 3 different poles which have same type of pole hose on friday all without fault.
The pole hose is without doubt better than the last yellow stiff hose IMO there are no kinks, twists, knots as yet.
I am interested to see how it stands the test of the colder snap we should be having this next few weeks.
Already tested it in warmer weather as it feels like summer already ;D
it is not as soft as I thought it would be, but I am really pleased which is a good sign.
I don't have to kick my legs and arms about and look like an idiot in a stress when it knots up as I am putting the pole up, thats a massive plus point for my health and wellbeing.
So far this pole hose is another great addition to my business.
