Title: chasing payment classic
Post by: TomCrowther on January 15, 2012, 08:42:27 pm
I asked a customer for payment, the clean just done plus the one last month. She said, "Oh, I had far more important people to pay in December". Nice to know where you fit in isn't it.

The way I see it is this, they can think what they want.  If they only knew how much happier most of us are in our business than they are in theirs.

I left almost 40k pa behind in the office after 15 years, I'm skint but happy  ;D

I'll never go back to their life  ;)

More important people to pay???
Who? Jeeves the butler?  ;D
Is it a good thing that folk look down on us, almost feeling sorry for us?
Problem is civilians think we do this for luncheon vouchers and have proper jobs at the weekend

If someone said this to me I don't know what I would say, if anything. I would probably go away and consider whether the customer was important enough for me to continue to have on the books.

Look at it from the other angle, it means she didnt have a spare tenner(or whatever the job was) just before xmas....

She tries to lord it over someone who runs their own cash rich business by admitting she was broke, just laugh inside and leave them to it...

But just drop into the conversation a few months down the line how well your business is doing and walk away leaving her to think about it, will drive her nuts lol

I very much doubt she would ever come close to working it out  ;D  I do like that saying, "if you have to explain it they'd never understand".
