Did the key fob used to unlock the doors?
Each door has a solenoid to operate the lock and they should lock and unlock the side doors as well.
However, some customers would choose to 'disconnect' the central locking on one side door, usually the off side door for security if they were mostly using the nearside one for loading and unloading. If it has never worked and you bought the van second hand, then this maybe a consideration.
The central locking is usually operated from a solenoid in the front drivers door. So if the passenger and back door is working then the fault is probably at the door itself. It would be one of those jobs where you would need to remove the door panel and start working back. First see if the solenoid actuator arm hasn't come off so not operating the lock in the door. They are held in place with little plastic clips that do become brittle and break. If they are intact then the next thing is to check with a tester to see if there is power to the solenoid. If there is power for a short time when the central locking is operated then the problem is the solenoid.
You will have to go through a process of elimination.
