The other night I was driving along when I began to smell a burnt smell I had heaters on full whack and thought I may have let oil or water get low in the engine when a big cloud of smoke came past my face from back of the van, I looked in the back behind my seat and the wires on the battery for system were flaming and sparking everywhere Chris who works for me had put a part off a portable gas fire in back of van the van which was metal on top of the battery shorting the wires out and causes all the wires to melt it bleeding stank n luckily was by my mates who ran out with his tool box to pull clamps off terminals!!!! Hopefully no real damage has been done part from replacing wires

I don't mean to be wise after the event but that's why you should have your battery in a battery box with a lid.

Rich your the only bloke I know that should have a sign saying "warning, may spontaniously combust!" you could use it as an advertising slogan " We're on fire!"
Seriously though I was asking because there is a guy near me who is a dab hand at fixing reach and wash systems.
