Title: SLX 25 problem
Post by: VSP Home Care on January 13, 2012, 06:49:52 pm
Hi, I was out doing a little this afternoon and when I closed the pole down I noticed that the bottom carbon section didn't close all the way.  I'm guessing there's an internal problem with the stopper or something, it's not a problem really, just bugging me as to why.

Extend the pole fully and wash out from the bottom to the top, its probably full of muck.

The SLX pole sections are designed to be closed down onto the fixed end-cap so that when closed all sections have a small 5-10mm gap between each clamp. What may have happened is that some of the upper sections have been closed down fully before the bottom section was closed down and as a result the upper sections are preventing the base section from closing. To 'sort' this open up all of the clamp levers and slide the base section down first and then each section above it.

Alternatively if you did close the bottom section down first and it stopped there even with all the other sections extended then it is probably something trapped below the largest extending section and the end-cap. Slide the bottom extending section up a little and have a 'fish around' through the end-cap hole for whatever is jamming the section.

Cheers Alex, it was in the hands on my trainee at the time  ;D  So it's likely he did it   ;)

I'll sort it in the morning, he did get the hose stuck twice whilst closing it down and managed to chomp it up a little.

How do you wash the poles by running a rag up and down externally or is there another better way.
