Having only ever used HWE method of cleaning carpets. I am now contemplating purchasing a dry system. Your thoughts please. Should i start with just a Host Reliant or is it worth going straight in for a Freestyle type machines. I am especially keen to hear from those of you who do have both wet and dry systems. What are the cost comparisons once the purchase hase been made. I did speak to a CC once who used the dry fusion method but for now i just want to keep it simple with counter rotating brush with sponges and maybe even an attached hoover. ::) ::) ::)

are you going to use the dry system as your main method ???
And it all depends on your price range, a lot of guys on here will do the odd domestic job with a sebo duo as it is not worth shelling out for a machine that isnt there primary choice.
Ill probably be corrected but I think the diffrence between the Reliant and freestyle is only the vac, if you have a vac already you could save a few bucks

Thanks for that - In short NO but who knows, at the moment i do use only HWE, but i do think there is an ever increasing demand for more convienant and user friendly methods which i think the dry systems manage to fill. Without sounding as if I have an unlimited budget ( I don't ) if a system fits and i like the results then i can purchase. However spending £350 on a secondhand brush system only to find I should purchased other equipment - could leave me feeling a little niffed - I would rarther spend good money now and see a machine well utilised and perhaps even break into and gain more business because i have more options open to me to offer the customer. From what I have read they are probably only good for preventitive / corrective work - of course I do stand to be corrected and no doubt will! :) :) :)

woooo youve stired it up now ;D
Yes I agree and have said before as many others that we should be able too offer the customer what is right for them and from a choice of methods, not just what we have knocking around the van ;)

Mark?
Like you I have read the recent posts on Dry Cleaning with intrtrst.
I was drawn to them as I noticed Doug now has a Web Site promoting this method and he is working 7 days a week.
I wonder how often he uses his Dri equipment,
Often in Blurb I obtain I read We coose the method best suited to your carpet.
So perhaps we should invest in these toys.
But what would be the priroties.
Dry Fushion
Charley Pads
Dry Cleaning System
Host Type System
Or Better HWE equipment
and
More Marketing of existing system
