Hi Guys Im interest in finding out if schedules requested by customers are getting longer. ive had a lot over recent months that are want once in 2/3 months. Many are wanting 6 weeks or more longer and more often for me 8 weekly.
i try whereever possible to impose a min clean price of 10/12 quid as i feel, when doing costings, that barely worth doing for less.
Do you find with new customers they are totally led by you and if you are steadfast in what schedules you offer does this ever put people off?
Please fill the poll so we can see current trend? :)

I do 6 weekly or 12 the majority opt for the 6wk.
-
i offer 4, 8 and 12 wkly and one off cleans. nothing else EVER!!!
4 wkly min charge £10 (unless its two windows or something daft. then its £5 min charge)
8 wkly = 25% increase
12 wkly 50% increase
one off 100% increase
8)

prices are pants round my way on average so custards go for monthly, if i was charging £10/12 per average semi then they wouldnt be having them done monthly
-
and as for pricing if your interested ;D...
£1 = small to average ground floor window (or door)
£1.50 = big ground floor window
........................................................................
£1.50 = small to average 1st floor window
£2 = big 1st floor window
........................................................................
£2 = small to average 2nd floor window
£2.50 = big 2nd floor window
.......................................................................

oh right

there is places that you could get better prices but my furthest house is 5 miles away and anywhere in that area is same price wise,id have to travel bit further 10-15-20 miles whatever and wouldnt be worth it unless i had 5 - 10 jobs go clean make it worth while

most new customers(larger houses)sign up for 6 weekly or 8 weekly.i offer this frequency from the off as i put a good price in and they usually go for it.
on compact estate work then monthly is the norm as their only paying £6-£10 a month.

im in stoke-on-trent,proberly 70% in blythebridge, got lot of compact stuff there @ £5.50- £6 still, work that i brought that was,i price new jobs up @ 75p per window, and got a weeks worth of nearly all terraces @ £5 which i dont mind cuz its easy work, the houses i pick up myself im quite happy with earn a bit more cash for less work but as for earning £200 a day like alot do on here thats a no go round my areas, cant see how i can charge £10 a house when windys are charging £5-£6,at moment happy picking work up so when got to much can try raise the prices on older work
-
Had some work in Blythe Bridge, Meir Park, Meir Heath, Weston Coyney. Everything from £7.00 up to £20.00.
I don't clean windows anymore but there is plenty of money to be liberated from the area and my earnings were at the top end of the scale.
I looked after Britannia Building Society head offices in Leek and had work coming out of my ears.
Don't believe that you cannot make top end earnings in the area because that is just not the case. I am over in Kingsley and rural may be an option.

not saying everything is £6 but my best priced houses are £20 in blythe got lots of £7 -£10's some £15 's aswell etc just majority is £6 stuff, should really leaflet other areas like barlaston, trentham and just try my luck @ pricing higher but i just think £1 a window is steep in stoke, got a full-ish round now so should think price higher if i get them sound but no loss if not
-
Trentham is a nice area but it is swamped with window cleaners, this should not put you off though.
when I had my big window cleaning round we covered Cheadle, Doveridge, Sudbury, Kingsley, Kingsley Holt, Leek, Ipstones.
For me rural always worked, they paid better, took longer to develop but were always worth it in the long run.
Good luck in what you are trying to do, if you want a chat give me a call. I am local for the next couple of weeks, if I can help in any way I am happy to do so.
Good luck

cheers rob,had quite a few ask for quotes in cheadle over last 2 years prob about 10 or so and said i dont cover that area only cuz it would start as 1 job which wouldnt be worth it but now would of bin ok if they were priced at £1 a window i suppose, maybe thats an area try
-
I know carl at Clear view is on here tonight, sure I drove past him yesterday somewhere local. He does a lot of work round our way and in Cheadle.
Whenever I got a lone call I would go and do a price and ask them to recommend a couple of friends, to make it worth my while. Seemed to always get results. Don't ignore the single calls.
I got one phone call to clean one house in Doveridge, on the other side of Uttoxeter and it became 140 houses on monthly cleans.

that worked well then ;D,yeh wish id of taken them on now,had a few quotes in meirpark aswell which i tried to price well got 1 out of 6, that was only £7 job which is 7 windows so just makes me re-think my prices, honestly cant believe how some lads get £12 on a regular basis for 8-9 window houses,i do under value myself tho for some reason, maybe if i was wfp id stick to higher end pricing to cover the extra costs involved
-
It's a confidence thing. Also about having the uniform, sign writing. When your round is pretty full you can take a chance on upping new clean pricing and it doesn't matter if you don't get them. You will get them when you believe you will!!( no mumbo jumbo crap - confidence is infectious!!)

only bin going 2 years and not long had full round can still squeeze bit more in tho,iv got t-shirts with my logo thats it tho did have sign written van but just upgraded and dont want sign it up until im wfp as will advertise that instead of trad, the other thing is if i pick work up next door to a house in my compact stuff which is £6 i cant charge neighbour £10 incase they get talking or the neighbour recommended me,either way in next couple of years im hopeing that my round will start to improve price wise as now im full, just wait a see eh!
