Title: Motivation Poll
Post by: Ian101 on January 12, 2012, 04:49:17 pm
1st proper week back and just about getting back into it.

Being honest has been hard getting my motivation level up since coming back off the Christmas break.

Your allowed 2 votes ... one for how you feel today and how you feel normally.

1 being low and 5 being high

If your gave yourself a 5 feel free to enlighten the group  ;D

Not had a holiday since May 2009 so planning on booking one soon  :)

My score is a 4 today which is normally where Im at but last week defo a 1  :(

i went for 5!high motivation all week and friday/saturday last week.

earned a good wedge this week resulting in a half day tomorrow then the weekend off!!

weather been reasonably good apart from a wet day yesterday but i just cracked on.

ive been at it 18 years now and i very rarely have low motivation these days due to wfp!!

i had 12 days off over the xmas period due to the high winds last tues/wed/thurs so im back in the zone now.

first clean due tomorrow at 9am(£30 six weekly)then a few estate houses.ill be shutting up shop around 130pm-2pm.back at it 9am monday morning.

an hours collecting between 530pm-630pm tomorrow night should get my debt list down a bit although a lot have paid me this week as well as SAE dropping on my doormat and online payments being added to my account.

i love this business!! ;) ;D ;D ;D

the trick  for me is having a few days off at the end of the month when all my work is completed.i dont try and work 10 hours a day(even in summer!)6 or 7 hours is plenty "on the glass" time for me a day.

i would hate the thought of having work to fill up 5 or 6 days a week every week.3 weeks or 3 and a half weeks work is plenty enough for me!! ;) ;D ;D

If you work for yourself it can only be 5.Because you do not have a boss to kick your back side into gear.
After all the cash is yours, what other good reason to be motivated.

my motivation is down at the moment we really need to pull in 200 more customers to get to a level where we were before break in, i came up with an incentive plan for staff to start bringing in more work and we all go out canvassing tuesday and thursday evening and they basically said there not interested so i may well have to lay them off and sell of a lot of my work and just go it alone i have enough decent work to keep myself going and would reduce stress

But i have managed to talk myself round by now converting to 100% wfp

Ive had little self induced niggles about converting some work fearing the custies rejecting it but ive come to the conclusion im not arsed and if it makes my life easier then that is the route my business will take regardless

Ladders make this job unbearable , plus try cleaning leaded windows in heavy drizzle that are minging from gale force winds and being 2 weeks late because of xmas , with scrim!

Having to deal with that all week did my head in but ive took some time off and decided from 1 feb i am wfp on everything that can be

I do struggle to enjoy this job , everyone always expected me to end up in an office or similar as my strengths are academic more than manual , but i enjoy being outside and moving about yet the monotony of the job is unbearably tedious at times , but the money is good

So i am cutting out all the jobs i hate and replacing with better , poling everything, and having a big price rise (late march early april), also trying to keep 25% of work commercial , this is helping

Sorry for the essay , but its a good post and has been on my mind all week !
