Title: Working File in WCP
Post by: concept on January 05, 2012, 11:13:27 am
Was working on wcp this morning and pc failed, terminally, AGAIN! Couldn't run back up, so pc shut down with wcp open.

Does anyone know where the "working file" might be, as my pc guy needs to recover it to keep me working.

Have emailed wcp, but figured someone here may know?

Cheers

Stored in real time to the hard drive in the DB file found in C:\Window Cleaner Pro\data\wcp.data

May help someone in the future.

Simon, get a memory stick, and change the file location to the memory stick then save each time you close it.

Only problem is you have to wait for them to get back to you to get a new key as old one does work, which is a ballache.

I always back up to my machine, but probably need some web based back up as a 2nd option.

What site do you use?

Sounds like the most simple plan.

Download Dropbox and it installs a folder on your computer and also backs up to net.

http://www.dropbox.com/

Set your WCP to save there and it backs it up online everytime and is also available on the computer.

yep back up online to these

this is the path i use and it automatically backs up online, so long as there is a connection,
C:\Users\username\Dropbox\WCP backup

it is secure, anyway wcp can only be uploaded to the copy it was backed up from

@ Concept, is it sorted? has wcp got back to you

Waiting to hear back from computer guy to see if he has retrieved it.

If he has, then will try to back up from that, and use one of the afore mentioned sites in future.

sucks dont it when your used to it being there at a touch of a button!! have you got wcp on cd?  think i will order a copy,
then if you use the dropbox (use my link cos i get bonus memory ! shameless i know)
then you can easly restore it
i had old copy of wcp and puter smoked!! and left it for so long on the 'i must, oh tomorrow will do' list
thaty it became an old copy, so just got a new version sept
