Hello has anyone any experience in cleaning a granite fireplace(white with grey grain) just seems to be getting a bit tarnished by the smoke from the fire
Any help appreciated

Firstly double check that it is Granite and not Marble. If it is definitely Granite I would use some Aqua Mix Extreme Cleaner on it and then seal it afterwards with some Aqua Mix Ultra Solve. If it is Marble I would clean it with Aqua Mix Heavy Duty Tile & Grout Cleaner coupled with some Aqua Mix NanoScrub or Aqua Seal Microscrub and then seal it. To determine what it is carry out an acid test in an inconspicuous place.

Thanks Kevin, as always extremly helpful, this my own fireplace and it was bought as granite so I'm assuming it is granite, and I would know how to do an acid test I'm afraid. Would u be able to email me details of your courses thanks seamus

If you are unsure just put a spot (Literally a pinhead spot will do) of Jif Lemon Juice in an inconspicuous place and leave it for 5 minutes and wipe off. If there is no white etch spot then your fireplace is not acid sensitive and you can proceed with the first method above.
I have e mailed you with the course details.
