i used to be a builder. anyway work was not going to well. i hurt my knee and decided to do a less high impact job . so i decided to work for a friend of mine window cleaning . problem was i had a colleague who i worked with in the building trade who i have worked with for 14 years got him through an apprenticeship as a bricklayer . i told him what i was doing and to be fair on him i said we could share my friends van and system . i did one week he could do the second week alternating the work. anyhow we both loved doing wc so the pair of us got our own systems up and running and went on our own . it wasn't going very well for either of us with the main problem was picking custys up on a regular per month basis, until i heard a wc in my local town was retiring . so approached him and he told me what he wanted for the round , so again to be fair on my colleague i said 50/50 split the round so we could get up and running. he was well up for it but little did i know but he tried to buy the round totally for himself cutting me out of the equation. fortunately for me the guy who sold it was a jehovah witness who in turn is a very honest guy and refused him until i was given first opportunity . i soon got the money for him and bought the round. lesson ive learned never trust anyone

what i love about this story is he tried to sell out on you and was obviously prepared to sacrifice your friendship for greed even though it appears you have always looked out for him and done things on a 50/50 basis.
Because of his greed he now has none of the new business and has lost a good friend. You appear to be a very kind and fair person. PLEASE learn from this and have nothing more to do with the scum.
Oh and on the bright side congratulations on your 50% rise in turnover!

yes indeed it has opened my eyes. as for the round been doing it for 6 weeks now not lost too many as i was told i would lose a few. its been a good round to purchase 12 days 4000 gross and i will get faster cause 30 per cent is trad and i was pretty crap for a while at it but now confidence is high and looking forward to this coming year

im glad you one the day m8.
im a genuine type like you and have been done over a couple of times.be true to yourself m8 and be wary of all.
get every deal agreed in writting and a profesional contract drawn up.

glad you didn't get badly burned, good that the bloke retiring was honest and didn't sell to highest bidder or screw you over.
sadly there are too many greedy back stabbers out there.
good luck with the round mate, hope you do well.

thanks mate

What has you ex friend said to all of this? Hope you have said something to the tw*t! I dont think i would need to use all the fingers on one of my hands to count the friends i could realy trust!

never ever trust a so called friend when it comes to money and business.
sharing vans and rounds etc is a big no no.you sound like a decent guy but just remember to never do this again!
build you round and business on your own and if you need help employ someone but not a friend.
friends and business do sometimes work but the odds are stacked against it working out in the long run.
hopefully lesson learnt
best wishes

so the round brings in £4000 for 12 days work?that sounds one hell of a round to buy!!! ;D ;D ;D

Good things always come to the people who are good, and greedy people always loose, that’s a 100% guarantee . I have seen it over the years so many times, I am so glad for you SunShine window.

go and see your "mate" and offer him some work, tell him your so busy now that you will happily pay him to wash your van on a saturday morning. ;)

I think he means it cost £4K as in 12 days work a month cost £4K so if each day is worth £120 (being trad) x 12 = £1440.
If so then about 3X which seems fair.
BTW> "Sunshine" - at least you know you can trust the seller! Why do you think his religion is relevant to mention? ;)

now im not saying I earn this everyday but if it is 4k earnt in 12 days I have earnt more than £333 a day which is all you need to do to earn 4k in 12 days. its definately possible if this round has had regular price rises and been refined.

Why do you think his religion is relevant to mention? ;) because j witness have to be morally correct they dont cheat lie or decieve its part of the way they live their lives so they are recieved well in thepromised land any misdoings they dont go. i recieved 4000 pounds in my 1st month cost of the round was a lot more to buy
