I normally send my tax return in online just before the 31st of this month via my bookeeper who charges £300. So I would like to know if any of you do the same but without the services of a bookeeper or accountant. I've got all my reciepts takings/outgoings etc not the best but all in order.

this is how i do it
gross/ 4000
expenses/500
net /3500
all done you will get a letter back to say tax to pay 0 ;D
no accountant
you have to be earning less than 15 K

What do you mean "you have to be earning less than 15k"

Think he meant 7,500.

When you earn less than 15k, you only fill in a simple tax return, so simple a complete Idiot could do it. Over 15k, and it get's a bit more complex.

if earning more than 15 k you carnt use the form its called Self Assessment tax return
for onemanband like me who earn 4k

When you earn less than 15k, you only fill in a simple tax return, so simple a complete Idiot could do it. Over 15k, and it get's a bit more complex.
Oh right, I haven't started yet (will be in a few days) so haven't paid tax with these forms yet but have been advised its quite simple and that an accountant isn't essential.

its as easy as that,but if you not registered to taxman dornt bother let him find you it could take him 5 years to catch up with you then you, just act numb like me, but it comes naturally to me

I am going to register, opening a seperate bank account tomorrow then going to register and get direct debit set up for national insurance contributions.

what you mean national insurance contributions you dornt need to pay them you will get Pension Credit to top up your Social Security you will still get pension even if you pay nowt you will get the same pension for those who paid its called pension credit so let them idiots pay there national contributions and buy nice things for yourself like new gardeners slx :)

I took my paperwork to the accountants 2 weeks ago and i thought i was cutting it fine at that!!

I've done it this way for last 4 years without any problems though this year wanted to save the £300 that my bookeeper normally charges me.
