Hi mold is a plant growing on the material and can cause rot and damage on extraction, use rust remover
and clarify limited results/damage.

good luck paul

Maybe someone else can clarify this but I thought rust removers a real nasty chemical, should it be put on a mattress ?

Depends how much damage the mould has done to the fibres. If its minimal then Clensan or Formula 429 will remove it and kill any remaining spores. If the fabric has black staining then that may be permanent but on a mattress it can always be covered. Rust remover will do nowt.

Dry steam vapour applied at pressure will remove the mould and anything else that might be in the mattress but do you want to spend a couple of grand on a machine to do it?

If you are going to specialise in mattress cleaning then it would be worth looking at.

Thanks for that Hilton. I cant see me spending 2k on a machine i would have to spend ages/money etc promoting to make any kind of return as i dont think many people really want to spend too much on a mattress clean.I ask about £60 for a double which would have to be repeated lots of times i think.I think we have all bought kit over the years that has been little used and either sits in the garage or has been off loaded for not much money..........Alan
