Cleaned house last month and didnt get paid they have now moved out. Should i find new address and chase or just leave it. Its only £15 but still a monthly thats lost.

I was more annoyed they didnt tell me they were moving i could of re cleaned today but new person has moved in and didnt want a wc lucky i saw them or i would of cleaned it again :)

Ive had it a few times,had a customer for ages who just vanished for no apparent reason during the night-only owed £6 but how bizzarre!

Had old boy who could hardly walk ,took ages to answer door then no cash as hasnt been to posti for his money ,I let it go a couple of times but eventually dumped him - dog crap in garden was a factor as well. He still owes me a tenner but it just aint worth the long wait/barking dogs/crap everywhere to chase .

I had to dump an old dear with dimensia who owed me £30 (x2 £15) i tried to collect a couple of times she remembers when you mention but then forgets to have money for you. so i wrote it off and dumped her :-[ i had a few problems with her for about a year not her fault but just easier to stop cleaning.

turns up at house custy due 2 cleans, guy comes out says no point in doing them they done a runner.
Are they owe you anything? yeah £16 and you are? im the landlord they are due me 3 months rent £1350, after hearing that didnt feel so bad losing £16

I did a house three weeks ago - bloke was in but when I knocked, he shouted from other side if the door saying he couldn't find the key, can I just leave an envelope?
Last week I rang to collect - bloke says sorry I've moved out!! I had a right moan at him and believe it or not, chq arrived yesterday
I defo never expected that
I say chase as much as you can mate :)

i once had a customer who i knew was moving but was asked to continue with the cleaning until the house was sold , the customer had allways paid .
i kept on doing the house as things still looked the same same curtains , furniture ect ......
I went to get paid only to find out the customer had left and sold the house as a job lot . i think i was down about £40 .
a couple of years passed and i was in mallorca when i dropped on this customer , his face was a picture when i put my hand on his shoulder in the bar and said hi .
i allso got paid ;D

we had one leave without telling us. I managed to get forwarding address, sent a polite but straight letter, and got paid with 10 days.
similar situation just happened. but can't get forwarding address so guess going to loose 12 quid. goes against grain but it happens. got to go with it.
if can chase it up, I would. but don't spend too much time or effort on it.

good advice, annoying but how much of your time is it worth ?

remember to keep details of all these bad debts, as am sure they can be written off against tax, some how

yes, that would wind me up even more, getting taxed on something I haven't got paid! there is a column on tax return (or tell your accountant and he will oput it in) for bad debts.
on the above comment, I now try to get mobile number for all new custs even if don't need it, this way easier to get them(annoy living Crap out of them!) if they up sticks and owe you.
