Hi all
Been at this 7 months now and made the usual mistakes caused by insecurity of not having a lot of work/money. ...I,e underpriced a few to many..!
What is the going rate for jobs, I aim for hourly rate of £25-30 but this seems low compared to some on here,I don't hit that all the time and I am getting better at pricing.
My minimum for small houses is £8, 12-15 for detached,12semi with conservatory and larger stuff is whatever I can get away with.
Gutters I charge £20 per length for medium size houses
Forgot to say I am wfp and trad for windows and have a fogwash
Charging enough or not, what u think.....?

Hi,
You're pricing sounds OK i think as far as min prices go. I would have a standard minimun of £10 tho, whether its a small house or bungalow. And also charge a min of £4 for a conny too as they take so long to clean. would also just make sure on the larger houses you're charging a £1 a window. in my expereince its the larger houses where people can underprice really badly. we certainly did it plenty of times.

Saying £1 a window on larger house is alot of the time why people underprice, it depends on what you class as one window.
I agree with Richard about having the min charge

welcome to Milton Keynes...lol
lots of competition. Lots of people doing it for peanuts!!
don't be a busy fool. It will take you longer to build a decent round but as long as you portray a professional image the right kind of person will respect you for it and pay ok prices.
Lots of people undersell themselves.
I have bought under priced work before and its a pain in the arse.
If you ever want to have a chat a bit more just let me know.

Can vouch for Steve's word and advice. My Mrs reckons I have a mobile just so I can talk to him!!
See if totalshine wants a Henry Steve? :)
Like you say, plenty of firms out there, some work for peanuts, some won't. We won't.
It all depends what you want out of it, a tangible business or some money to pay the bills.

I lived in Mk 15 years ago this is before i became a window cleaner, We lived in a Two bed semi on Crownhill and we payed £5.00 back then. My mate lives in Shenley brook end and has a 4 bed deatched and pays £30.00 The guy who cleans for them has a nearly all the close and a good part of the estate. They all love him, good luck and talk to the guys who have offered help but i think your to cheap and yes we have all been in the same boat as you.
