Title: Broken clamp on SLX
Post by: Klean07 on December 19, 2011, 05:10:44 pm
Is there any way that I can still use pole with one clamp missing? I know it ssounds like a daft question but I've just spent best part of an hour trying to put a spare clamp on minus the plastic bit that tightens it up without success. I've ordered a replacement.

depends, if it is big enough pole for you to work not using that one section then yes .just tape over it with electrical tape to stop that section spinning. if its an slx 18 your probably screwed

saying that even if it was an 18 just extend section with broken clamp fully and tape up, then use other sections for finer adjustment. might have to do it on every job but would only take a minute. would keep you working until the clamp arrives.

its the lever part though a whole clamp would do. I'm going to the German market in Brum later if you want to meet me there.

Thanks cleancare mate. It looks like I will be doing that anyway as I didn't have time to get into Sutton this evening.

I had a clamp come unstuck today, on my slx 18.
I had to take the top 3 sections out of the slx18 and replace them with the top 3 sections of my slx30.
It wasnt ideal as the base section was shorter than the slx30 sections, but it was better than using a 30ft pole for 3/4's of the days work.
