Post by: L.Doubtfire - The Blade Runner on December 19, 2011, 04:00:15 pm
What are self cleaning ovens ? Can`t get my head around
This at all.
It only applies to domestic ovens or so I`m told.
How do they work,?
Thanks for replies.

In the owner's manual you will find the instructions for periodically self cleaning. Basically, the heat is turned right up and left until the fat/spattered food carbonises into a powdery substance, which is then easily cleaned. Most ovens now have self cleaning panels inside, they are the hardest part to actually clean ;D

I dip tank them and they come up great most of the time...

Imagine they create a lot of smoke and smell while " cleaning "

When I offered oven cleaning around 4 out of 10 ovens I cleaned were "self cleaning" although most owners did not know how they worked. Still need glass, racks and bits which are not self-cleaning to be cleaned though ;D
